The Role:

We are looking for a seasoned Corporate Quality Assurance Manager to join our Quality Assurance team at our corporate head office in Mississauga. As a member of our quality leadership team, your mandate is to:
  • Partner with our plant leadership teams to facilitate the on-going compliance to Mother Parker's Quality & Food Safety standards and ensure that legal and regulatory requirements are met across our North American supply chain process.
  • Build a quality & food safety culture, while fostering ownership and accountability for compliance at all levels of the organization and ensuring effective communication and reporting.
  • Build a problem-solving mindset focused on Quality improvement and overall regulatory compliance.

What you get to do:
  • Ensure governance over the pre-requisite program to mitigate risk across the business and apply SQF, applicable global regulatory requirements, and all related corporate procedures across the network.
  • Drive strategy through governance by rolling up food safety team and internal audit program outputs to build focused strategy planning and provide inputs to vulnerability assessments to drive quality management system improvement.
  • Ensure that the Quality Management System conforms to legal and regulatory requirements and to SQF Quality & Food Safety codes.
  • Provide technical and regulatory input to proposed capital projects and facility changes for business growth and GMP.
  • Pro-actively drive strategies, short- and long-term initiatives and programs consistent with corporate and site strategies.
  • Support the implementation of new software systems to support QA activity improvements and capabilities.
  • Review Business continuity planning with respect to contingency manufacturing and risk-based supplier management assessment.
  • Support data analysis to provide actionable data to drive reduction in non-conformity trends and improve sustainable root causes analysis.
  • Provide technical support to site QA teams regarding Food safety protocols, validations, Aseptic regulations, risk assessment for deployment of projects, new lines, new products and ingredients.

What you bring to the role:
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience leading and managing the Quality function at multiple sites within a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
  • University degree in Food Science, Biology or Chemistry is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of governing regulations, including Codex, SFCR and FSMA.
  • Knowledge of US Dietary Supplements and/or Natural Health Products regulations is an asset.
  • Knowledge of thermally processed low acid food requirements is an asset.
  • Trained on PCQI, GMPs, HACCP, SQF or another GFSI scheme. Experience with GFSI audits.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, with a strong focus on detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to thrive in a complex, high demand environment with multiple priorities.
  • Ability to influence and communicate a clear and compelling vision and develop strong, trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results.
  • Strong problem solving, change management and analytical skills.
