POSITION SUMMARY

The Director of Undergraduate Admissions is a leader within Westminster University's Enrollment Management division, directly reporting to the Vice President of Enrollment Management. Enrollment Management is a collaborative team committed to providing and supporting services that attract, enroll, and retain students. The Enrollment Management division seeks to offer a student-centered, service-focused, and innovative enrollment experience that supports the University's strategic priorities. The director of undergraduate admissions supports these efforts by leading a team of eight admissions professionals in designing and implementing data-informed recruitment strategies to attract and enroll a diverse and dynamic undergraduate student population.

The Director of Undergraduate Admissions will demonstrate an understanding of the challenges facing higher education, knowledge of ethical best practices, a commitment to excellence, support for innovation in the recruitment and enrollment process, and the qualities needed to thrive in a fast-paced and supportive environment with high expectations.

This position requires in-person leadership on Westminster's campus, with frequent travel for recruitment and professional development activities.

This role supports student success by recruiting dynamic and diverse undergraduate student populations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

UNDERGRADUATE ADMISSIONS STRATEGY
  • Lead recruitment initiatives, including strategic travel, events, and internal and external partnerships.
  • Serve as a university spokesperson to prospective students, families, counselors, and community partners.
  • Develop, execute, and assess a comprehensive undergraduate recruitment plan that aligns with Westminster University's mission, vision, and strategic goals.
  • Provide data-driven insights to inform recruitment, admissions, and financial aid strategies, ensuring goals are met for applications, enrollment, and yield.
  • Work collaboratively with the vice president of enrollment management to monitor key enrollment indicators, evaluate enrollment outcomes, and use data to refine strategies and improve performance.
  • Partner with the marketing and communications teams to develop effective outreach campaigns, leveraging print, digital, and social media platforms.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Aid Office to strategically leverage financial aid to meet enrollment goals.
  • Build partnerships with school districts, community colleges, community organizations, and other key stakeholders to increase enrollment.
  • Utilize external partners and research in support of admissions strategies including name purchases, and search.


OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT
  • Oversees all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the undergraduate admissions team, including new student recruitment, travel and territory assignments, new student recruitment events, campus visit initiatives, vendor relationships, and student financial services collaboration.
  • Lead, mentor, and support the professional development of an admissions staff of eight professionals, fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.
  • Collaborate the with vice president of enrollment management on budget priorities, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support recruitment efforts.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of applications, admission decisions, and program-based applications.


INSTITUTIONAL LEADERSHIP AND PARTNERSHIPS
  • Collaborate across departments to develop and execute strategic enrollment plans aligned with institutional goals. This includes the integration of faculty and staff into the recruitment process through participation in events and webinars, providing relevant information to highlight program strengths, and supporting programs with direct enrollment.
  • Develop strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, such as faculty, financial aid, marketing, athletics, student affairs, and student success teams, to ensure a seamless enrollment experience and to ensure that admissions staff members are informed of campus updates and new initiatives.
  • Develop partnerships and programming with external partners, including high school counselors, alumni, community-based organizations, and independent educational consultants.
  • Represent enrollment management and undergraduate admissions on university and professional committees as appropriate.
  • Engagement in campus events and enrollment activities, including Admitted Students Day, New Student Orientation, and Commencement.
  • Member of one of enrollment management senior leadership team and an enrollment management action team, contributing to the overall success of the division.


COMPLIANCE
  • Actively contribute to enrollment and campus wide compliance initiatives, including Student Consumer Information and other reporting requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least five years of progressive leadership experience in admissions or enrollment management.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategic enrollment initiatives.
  • Experience managing and developing professional staff with a commitment to equity and inclusion.
  • Proficiency in using data and analytics to inform decision-making.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Expertise with admissions CRM systems (e.g., Slate) and other enrollment management technologies.
