Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Engineering Manager to lead, motivate, and manage a team of technical professionals at JSAT. The ideal candidate will have experience in both technical project environments and managing people, with a focus on optimizing team performance, maintaining a positive work culture, and ensuring smooth project execution. This role is critical in balancing project needs with the wellbeing and development of our team members.

1. Team Leadership & Management:
  • Manage and lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and project managers involved in the design, implementation and support of automation systems (e.g., PLC, SCADA, robotics, control systems, Manufacturing and lab automation) for clients.
  • Ensure effective team communication and collaboration across all levels to meet project deadlines.
  • Monitor and support team members to maintain high performance, including resolving technical or interpersonal challenges.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, check ins, one on ones, provide feedback, and create development plans for team members.
  • Develop team members through coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.

2. Resource Planning & Scheduling:
  • Develop and manage the workforce schedule to ensure sufficient coverage for project delivery, particularly during critical project phases or shift work requirements.
  • Oversee the allocation of resources to projects based on expertise, workload, and team availability, ensuring optimal team utilization.
  • Collaborate with HR and senior management to ensure recruitment, onboarding, and training align with project demands.

3. Talent Development & Retention:
  • Develop training programs to enhance team skills and ensure they are up to date with industry advancements in automation technologies.
  • Mentor and guide team members, fostering a positive working environment and promoting career growth.
  • Focus on employee retention by fostering a healthy work life balance and addressing employee concerns effectively.


4. Performance Monitoring & Improvement:
  • Track individual and team performance metrics to identify strengths, areas for improvement, and opportunities for additional support.
  • Implement and maintain efficient workflows and processes for entire team.
  • Monitor and report on project performance and team productivity.
  • Implement strategies for continuous improvement in project execution, quality, and team productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, particularly in industrial environments.

5. Stakeholder Collaboration:
  • Work closely with senior management, project managers, vertical owners and clients to understand project goals, timelines, and workforce requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered to specification and within deadlines.
  • Act as a liaison between technical staff and Senior management, ensuring alignment of business objectives with team activities.
  • Work with vertical owners to define and execute strategy for business growth, smoother project execution and client satisfaction.
  • Other duties as assigned.
