Job Purpose:

The Systems Engineer is responsible for the administration and supervision of Azure cloud infrastructure, and networking infrastructure in ALS managed schools. The Systems Engineer works with cloud and network partners and internal IT to design/plan, manage, support, and oversee ALS's server environments and business continuity processes. Assists with managing, maintaining, monitoring, and securing (including data security) all servers including installations, upgrades, patches, and documentation. The Systems Engineer reports directly to the VP of Educational Platforms.

Primary Responsibilities:
Analyze existing systems and infrastructure lifecycle to determine industry-forward best practices for upgrades or replacements best suited for business needs.
Design, Implement, Maintain, troubleshoot, and configure IT system implementations, including physical or virtual infrastructure components.
Perform day-to-day operations tasks, including provisioning, implementing secure connections with resources, responding to alerts and incidents, etc.
Anti-Virus Software Management
Work with other teams on infrastructure design for new solutions deployment and integration of acquired offices/systems.
Ensuring systems and services are up and running 24x7x365.
Perform all activities in keeping with established change management and approval procedures.
Participate in the on-call schedule for after-hours and weekend support.
Supporting IT team by creating/Updating proper Network Design Documentation, and draft process/procedures/policies to aid in knowledge transfer among the team.
Act as subject-matter-expert for cloud end-to-end security architecture, including networking, storage, databases, provisioning, and management.
Drive continuous integration and deployment of secure solutions.
Document secure patterns and solution designs for consuming cloud services for use by the technology and security teams.
Provide Tier 2 escalation support for any cloud or network infrastructure-related issues.
Create scripts to audit and monitor Azure resources.
Support networking technologies and how to securely interconnect physical and virtual networks.
Administer access management for all users across platforms.
Set quality standards for tools, techniques, and methodologies, advising on their application, and ensuring compliance.
Designing, configuring, and maintaining Azure the environment.

Preforms other duties as assigned by the VP of Educational Platforms.

Job Requirements and Prerequisites:
Degree in Computer Science or related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Technology, with hands-on experience in Cloud, from a Development and Architecture background, preferred.
Deep knowledge of networking, and cloud platforms and services in Azure, preferred
Azure Active Directory Knowledge
Demonstrate efficient and effective use of problem-solving, troubleshooting, project management, and task prioritization to solve complex IT challenges.
Excellent communication skills, especially with students and parents
Organizational skills and high attention to detail; written and oral communication skills.
Ability to travel to all assigned ALS managed schools.
