Compensation: The base annual salary range for this full-time role is between $69,000 to $95,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target range for new hire base salary across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside of this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to a candidate's qualifications including relevant education and training, competencies, experience, geographic location, and business needs. Base pay is only one part of the total compensation package. Full time roles are eligible for equity and benefits. Base pay is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Description

Our Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the accounts payable cycle, monthly reconciliations, and supporting month-end close procedures. In this role you will also be responsible for managing prepaid expenses, employee expense reports and fixed asset schedules, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies while providing essential support to the finance department.

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO

Accounts Payable:
  • Oversee the accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
  • Maintain vendor records and manage relationships with vendors to resolve any discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with procurement to ensure compliance with company policies and payment reconciliation.

Monthly Reconciliations:
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring the accuracy of cash balances and identifying discrepancies.
  • Reconcile various accounts monthly, including credit card and other balance sheet accounts.

Month-End Close Procedures:
  • Assist in the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and promptly. .Prepare journal entries and verify the completeness and accuracy of all financial data

Prepaid Expenses, Employee Expense Reports and Fixed Asset Schedules:
  • Manage the accounting for prepaid expenses, ensuring proper allocation and amortization in accordance with accounting principles.
  • Managing monthly employee expense reports for accuracy and timely payment.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register, accurately recording all acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation.

Compliance, Reporting and Audit Support:
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, policies, and regulations.
  • Prepare reports and analyses for management as needed, contributing to financial reviews and strategy discussions.
  • Support the annual audit and tax filings.


WHAT YOU BRING TO OUR TEAM
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of accounting experience, with a focus on accounts payable and month-end processes.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations, specifically IFRS.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA or relevant certification is a plus.
  • Inventory management or experience.
