Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior O-RAN System Design Engineer, to join our Product Development, to work on our cutting-edge 5G switching products. This is a highly technical position that requires the individual to be an well versed in Radio Access Network (RAN), Ethernet and IP switching technologies.
Responsibilities include leading product definition, architecture, implementation and deployment of 5G transport products based on industry trends, innovation, competitive analysis and customer needs. The position will also involve customer engagements, including writing white papers, patent creation, doing presentations, demos and support.

What you'll do
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing systems around company's 5G Product line in line with company's strategy and vision:
- Lead, Design and develop O-RAN based system solutions which utilize, promote and can publicize company's offerings for different 5G use cases.
- Represent Canoga in trade groups, such as O-RAN, OCP, etc. as subject matter expert to promote vision of next generation networks that is aligned with Canoga products.
- Participate in various trade groups and industry events to decipher and articulate industry trends into implementable features in company's product line.
- Based on potential customer application, design, develop, stage and document solution for customer presentation.
- Support customer facing teams by articulating, participating and publishing technological advantages in Canoga products.
- Support successful adoption of Canoga products during deployment and subsequent operation by providing needed technical support to customer facing teams.
- Travel as needed for conferences, events and customer meetings.
What we're looking for
The successful candidate will have in-depth understanding of the following:
- O-RAN and 3GPP technologies for the Radio Access Networks (4G/5G) and New Radio Cloud, virtualization and containerization, especially hyperscaler offerings for Mobile Edge Compute.
- IEEE 802.1 LAN/MAN bridging technologies, with special emphasis on Time Sensitive Networking.
- IETF routing standards, such as IS-IS, OSPF, BGP, SRv6, SR-MPLS, etc.
- Private / Public 5G deployments in this market.
What would be useful
It would be useful and advantageous for the candidate to have experience in or knowledge of:
- Data Center architecture and edge computing.
- Industrial 4.0 and 5G applications including ultra-reliable low latency communications (uRLLC).
- Cyber-physical systems engineering, AI.
- FPGA architecture, design and implementations.
- Switching ASIC designs and options on the market.
Must Have
The successful candidate must have:
- 7+ years of experience in Data Communication product development or equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A high level of comfort with network technologies and participation in groups.
- The ability to convey complex networking systems and technologies in a way that is well-received.
- The ability to work independently, be self-motivated, a self-starter and lead highly technical teams.
- The ability to maintain an excellent rapport with cross-functional internal and external personnel.
- Master's or PhD Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. PhD degree a plus.
- Intermediate level skills in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook & Strong Presentation Skills
