Job Description
Manages all aspects of the Cardiology clinical operations within assigned area(s) of responsibility in collaboration with Sr. Clinical Director, Physician & Supervisory Clinical Leadership, in addition to other key stakeholders and personnel for SMG.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to clinical, financial, and administrative management. Oversight, and support of business objectives including SMG's mission, vision, and values. This position will have the expertise to function effectively to support leadership in personnel and related matters, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This role also assists with Cardiology department growth, integration of new providers and personnel as well as operationalizing new business, equipment and procedures.

Job Description
Manages all aspects of the Cardiology clinical operations within assigned area(s) of responsibility in collaboration with Sr. Clinical Director, Physician & Supervisory Clinical Leadership, in addition to other key stakeholders and personnel for SMG.

Essential Job functions:
- Responsible for direct management of staff and all day-to-day operations over multiple, locations, and geographies.
- Support and implement, in collaboration with the Sr. Clinical Director, the strategic direction of clinical operations within the department of Cardiology.
- Manages front-line fiscal resources in a cost-effective manner that is financially responsible and consistent with the overall goals and business objectives including but not limited to:
- Collaborate with Sr. Clinical Director in preparing and maintaining budgets consistent with the financial plan and operational goals and objectives.
- Participate in annual budget preparation fiscal planning and consistent monthly monitoring. Offers suggestions to make adjustments as needed to ensure fiscal responsibility, and attainment of financial goals.
- Ensures efficient management of resources: labor, services, supplies, materials, (COGS) and office space.
- Identifies opportunities to improve work performance e.g., utilization of resources (overtime, scheduling, supplies, labor) and variances.
- Analyzes work processes, workflows and eliminates inefficiencies.
- Reduces redundancy, wasted materials and/or resources.
- Ensure a team approach and a collaborative work environment with Sr. Director, physicians, technical manager and Cardiology staff supervisors.
- Responsible for the effective leadership and management of direct reports to achieve results. Ensures alignment with Company strategy, department goals and objectives, including but not limited to:
- Directing staff towards accomplishments of job requirements and goals.
- Effectively and appropriately delegates work tasks and grants authority to subordinates while providing guidance where needed. Closely monitors outcomes.
- Evaluates and develops staff through coaching, and mentoring. Provides ongoing feedback, completes staff performance reviews, responds to issues quickly and escalates to the Sr. Clinical Director as appropriate.
- Respects confidentiality at all levels.
- Plans and assists in hiring and orientation of new supervisory staff. Follows HR and Company guidelines for hiring, managing performance, and compliance.
- Recognizes opportunities to reward and recognize staff.
- Fosters a team environment of collaboration, efficiency and shared accountability.
- Responsible for the customer service/patient experience in all areas of responsibility.
- Oversees the management of office - telephone call flow and volume.
- Monitors efficiency metrics
- Ensures the highest level of patient satisfaction and staff efficiency.
- Responsible for managing, planning, organizing, and coordinating daily operations over multiple locations across the department of cardiology.
- Takes a lead role in working with the physician POD leaders to ensure efficient office operations. Adjusts workflow as necessary to ensure overall smooth functioning of the department and compliance of SMG policies.
- Manages supply chain and inventory control with appropriate par inventory on hand - in an effort to monitor and ensure expense control.
- Communicates with physicians and POD Liaison(s) on regular basis. Functions as a resource for POD leaders to manage patient issues and concerns; reports back to Sr. Clinical Director.
- Provides status of office operations to the Sr. Clinical Director in a timely manner. Collaborates on departmental functioning, efficiency, and areas of opportunity.
- Ensures policies and procedures are properly communicated and adhered to.
- Ensures staff members are competent in emergency protocol and procedures.
- Helps with maintaining the automated schedule. Daily collaboration with staffing coordinator and office supervisors to assure scheduling and coverage needs of the office and departments are met.
- Monitor all metrics / dashboards.
- Monitors departmental compliance with all applicable standards (OSHA, HIPPA, Occurrence Reporting); reports compliance concerns; ensures utilization of resources for resolution of issues.
- In collaboration with team members and leadership, champions the use of the Electronic Medical Record, and departmental /Ancillary systems, etc.
- Assists Office Supervisor/staff with implementation of customer service action plans.
- Attends office POD staff meetings and reports back to Sr. Clinical Director. Attends Sr. Clinical Director meetings and/or other Leadership meetings.
- Orients and trains new regional managers to the service line.
- Collaborates with Cardiology - Technical Manager to create cohesive and connected direction for supervisors.
- Subject matter expert for division.
- Assists Sr. Director with integration of new offices and providers.
- Collaborates efficiently and effectively with outside departments.
- Takes on additional territory as Cardiology continues to expand.
- Participates in the development and implementation of strategies for process improvement and outcomes.
- Focuses on improving front-line clinical efficiencies
General Job functions:
- Provides guidance to Office Supervisors on maintaining efficient patient flow and eliminating office inefficiencies.
- Provides guidance to the Pods for seamless referrals and/or consult orders and smooth navigation of booking appointments across the group.
- Effectively communicates any concerns, or issues to the Office Supervisor and/or Sr. director promptly.
- Oversees supply ordering. Ensures accurate cost accounting.
- Demonstrates flexibility with work schedules.
- Assumes responsibility for own professional development and practice. Develops professional goals to maintain and expand clinical and managerial competency. Serves as a role model for professional Nursing practice.
- Participates in departmental and organizational committees.
- Collaborates with the Sr. Director in the development of annual departmental goals and objectives.
- Utilizes the organizational mission to implement system changes in health care delivery that maintain quality care and fiscal integrity.

Education, Certification, Computer and Training Requirements:
- High School Graduate/GED/Equivalent work experience.
- Bachelor's degree required. Masters preferred.
- New Jersey State RN Nursing License.
- BLS certification, ACLS/PALS certification required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years - management experience required.
- Knowledge of current nursing practices and protocols.
- Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, required.
- Ability to lead and manage a department (team), required with high level of customer service and patient care management in mind
- Valid Driver's License.
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform multiple work projects on tight timelines for delivery with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to function well in a high-pressure, fast paced environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule is required on occasion (i.e., evenings or weekends) to meet the needs of the department and/or groups growth and expansion.
- Ability to use problem solving, critical thinking and priority setting skill sets.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with physicians.
