This operational management position is located at our U.S. Corporate Headquarter location in Gastonia, NC. The STUS facilities include the operations of the Stabilus Gastonia Manufacturing plant as well as the Charlotte Aftermarket Warehouse. The Plant Manager is responsible for executing manufacturing operations which meet or exceed both customer and internal requirements for product deliver and quality in a culture focused on safety first and positive employee relations.
Operational scope includes production, continuous improvement and operations services, manufacturing engineering and maintenance, facilities and industrial services, EH&S, quality, logistics, and automotive customer service.
This role is responsible for leading the operational plant in close cooperation and alignment with the COO responsible for the standardization and operational techniques on the Stabilus global scale. Furthermore, the role works in a matrix alignment with global business unit head to lead the manufacturing operations and achieve business objectives.

The work environment includes a combination of office and manufacturing plant settings. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, and heat. The noise level in the office environment is usually quiet to moderate. Main Responsibilities:
- Develop, monitor, and maintain KPI's for the operational scope.
- Implement our lean manufacturing principles across the entire value chain.
- Drive actions necessary for continuous improvement in all aspects of operations.
- Cascade the global vision of the Stabilus Group into the local strategy for the plant.
- Execute annual budget planning for the plant in accordance with Stabilus Standards.
- Build, lead, motivate and coach the regional team focused on positive employee relations and a safety-first culture.
- Support the Stabilus Code of Ethics throughout the plant organization.
- Observe and implement IATF16949 and other relevant quality standards.
- Create, implement and continuously improve and adhere to Stabilus guidelines, work instructions and processes.
- Cascade Group Objectives into quantified and accountable regional and personal goals.
- Maintain highest regional level of relationships with suppliers, customers and partners.
Education, Training, Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in technical area or related discipline
- Masterr's degree in technical area or related discipline preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 15 years' progressive operational experience.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience leading people
Job Knowledge and Skills
- Expert in Lean manufacturing principles including value stream mapping, Kaizen and 5S.
- Complex problem-solving skills including a working knowledge of 8D Problem resolution and Six Sigma principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Process thinker.
- Strong ability to lead and inspire teams.
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment including managing competing demands and dealing with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization including mid to high levels within the global Stabilus organization, third party vendors, and government agencies.
