Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Global Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager is to oversee the organization's overall adherence to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations. This position is responsible for developing strategies to identify and prevent occupational safety and health hazards at facilities.

Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Global Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager is to oversee the organization's overall adherence to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations. This position is responsible for developing strategies to identify and prevent occupational safety and health hazards at facilities.
Essential Duties
- Develops strategies and systems to identify, assess, and manage workplace safety risks effectively.
- Creates policies, initiatives, and projects to mitigate hazards.
- Stays updated on Federal, State, and Local pollution control laws, regulations, permits, licenses, orders, etc.
- Implements environmental policies to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Builds and oversees air and water pollution control systems.
- Provides training to staff on hazardous waste, air pollution control, and wastewater treatment.
- Identifies and monitors hazard priorities to address them effectively.
- Establishes relationships with supervisors and managers to handle occupational safety and health hazards.
- Maintains knowledge of the recognition, evaluation, and control of occupational safety and health hazards through ongoing training and research.
- Keeps abreast of current OSHA and other applicable safety and health regulations.
- Supervises external safety and industrial hygiene consultants to ensure they meet company requirements.
- Chairs the Safety Committee to coordinate resources for hazard abatement.
- Manages costs while achieving safety program goals and objectives.
- Establishes proactive EHS programs and implements across multiple sites to reduce compliance costs.
- Manages workers compensation claims and budgets with HR and insurance company.
- Learns and improves manufacturing plant operations for EHS and operational efficiency.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Educational Requirements
Required
- High School Diploma/GED
- 10 - 12 years of experience in the field of Safety and Industrial Hygiene in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of safety, environmental laws and regulations, especially OSHA
- Experience assessing plant's present status on occupational safety, health, and compliance issues to pinpoint strengths and weaknesses
- Experience choosing and advocating for a suitable plan of action to address concerns, safeguard employees, and enhance the company's success
- Intermediate experience utilizing computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to multi-task and manage priorities in an efficient manner
- Experience working in a fast paced and high-volume work environment.
- Proactive "self-starter" with a strong attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with employees on all levels, including executive leadership, with the ability to motivate and persuade
- Valid Driver's License
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Safety, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology or related field
- 1 - 2 years of experience as a safety coordinator or manufacturing team lead
