Job Summary: Assists the director of nursing services in the coordination and implementation of the health services program by providing supervision, orientation, training, and clinical support to health services staff, including RNs, LPNs, and health assistants, in assigned schools.
Salary: Grade 7, $78,172.22 - $109,792.18 DOE
Work Day: 8 hours
Work Year: 12 months
Bargaining Unit: Non-Represented
Job Qualifications/Requirements (please review job description for qualifications and duties of the position):
The following are required:
1. Current state of Alaska registered professional nurse license.
2. Competent in the use of technology.
3. Comprehensive understanding of Alaska nursing statutes and regulations, especially those pertaining to the delegation of nursing tasks.
4. Knowledge of community health and medical resources, BBP procedures, and standard precautions.
5. Ability to relate and communicate with others, with emphasis on handling medically fragile students; ability to provide health and safety-related training to staff.
6. Must be able to travel to various schools and offices within the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District. While driving on district business, must hold a valid driver's license as well as current insurance and vehicle registration.
The following are preferred:
1. Bachelor's degree in nursing.
2. Experience working in a school district setting and serving school-age children with disabilities, including knowledge of and experience writing school health care plans in coordination with student 504 plans and individual education plans.
3. Supervisory experience.
