Covenant Health in partnership with Alberta Health Services and the Department of Family Medicine, Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta, invites applications for a Family Medicine Obstetrics physician to be based primarily at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta. The position will include outpatient maternity care through Millwoods Maternity Care Clinic (MCC) and in-patient care at the Grey Nuns Community Hospital.

The successful applicants will be expected to apply for a Clinical Faculty Appointment in the Department of Family Medicine, University of Alberta, which will be considered under a separate process through the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry.

Thesuccessful candidate will have completed a two-year Family Medicine Residency including demonstrated interest and experience in Primary Care Obstetrics. They will have superior interpersonal skills and be a proven team player. The ability to work congenially within a group setting is an absolute prerequisite. Commitment to trauma informed care and culturally sensitive care is essential. Experience in substance use disorder is an asset. Participation in the call group for MMCC is expected, which currently provides a model of care with one person on hospital-based call 24/7.

Start date will be discussed at point of interview.

Required:
MD or equivalent.
Licensed or eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
Recent ALARM certification or willingness to obtain.
Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada
Expertise and commitment to quality care and patient safety.
Demonstrated commitment to Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) in the healthcare environment.
Understanding of Just Culture and its role in healthcare.
