KDA Inc. is looking for a Senior level, Experienced Business Development Director to support and Grow our Aerostructures and MRO (DMA) business focus area. This individual will be tasked with fostering / growing senior level engagements, understanding the US and global market, and working closely with our KDA counterparts in Norway to grow business both within the US and in Norway. The Senior BD Director shall be the primary link and conduit between DMA operations in Norway and the US market and existing customers on a day-to-day basis. This role will work closely with Norway-based DMA resources focused on the US market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop, in close alignment with DMA in Norway, the business development strategy to drive growth and profitability within DMA's business segments (Aerostructures & MRO) and capabilities in the United States
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and contract acquisitions.
  • Analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to inform strategic decisions and positioning.
  • Forge and maintain strategic partnerships, alliances, and collaborations with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, and suppliers.
  • Sales and Revenue Growth: Drive sales initiatives and revenue growth by identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, contracts, and programs.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the successful execution of business development initiatives.
  • Work as part of the KDA Inc. Business Development team to identify areas of cross collaboration and provide inputs to the overarching KDA Inc. Strategic Plan

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development within the defense aerospace industry, with a focus on military systems and solutions, with at least 3 years working at the Senior / Executive level
  • Prior military service experience, preferably in weapons system maintenance, sustainment, and logistics, providing valuable insights into defense operations and requirements.
  • Aircraft requirements, MRO, Depot Level Repair, and CLS experience a plus. This includes Joint or Program Office level program management experience
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, MSc) preferred.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and winning large-scale pursuits / contracts (over $50M)
  • Proven ability to build Senior level (GO / FO, SES) relationships. Ability to engage with and coordinate messaging and coordination with Senior Government and Industry Partner organizations, building long-term client relationships.
  • Deep understanding of the defense aerospace market, and government procurement processes (PPB&E), including trends, technologies, and regulatory environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate at all levels.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a cross cutting, multi-function team.
  • Understanding of and experience in the use of business development and capture processes (Shipley, etc.)

Location:
  • Position shall be located in the DC Metro area and operate out of the KDA, Inc. Headquarters office in Alexandria, VA. Remote location may be considered for a highly qualified candidate.
  • Travel: Up to 50% travel both domestically and internationally expected. Candidates must be willing and able to travel to government and industry partner locations, participate in trade shows and conferences, and to Norway for coordination with DMA and other KDA organizations.

Clearance Requirements:
  • Eligible for and ability to obtain a government SECRET clearance. Active SECRET or higher clearance preferred.
