Job Description:

The Military/Government and Law Enforcement Sales Manager will be responsible for the development and execution of all government, military and law enforcement (LE) programs to include but not limited to sales, business development, and product requirement functions for military, LE distributors and government agencies. In addition, the position will be responsible for providing customer research, customer feedback, information on market conditions, and status/activity information on competing organizations/brands to assist sales, product management, and key leadership in developing strategy and product direction. This position is responsible for the financial, relationships, and success of all government, military, and LE programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Identify and assist in the development of product ideas and product requirements to support the new product development process for government, military, and LE based products/requirements.
  • Assist in efforts for developing products to be accepted into applicable government purchasing programs and programs of record.
  • Identify product performance for professional customers and provide feedback into product life cycle/product management efforts.
  • Seek and identify opportunities and solicitations suited to the company's core competencies and manage submissions.
  • Assist in the development of marketing materials and efforts for product campaigns across media scope (print, web, digital, etc.).
  • Ensure business complies with all applicable international, federal, state and local laws and regulations. Seek counsel from the compliance team and/or the Government & International Business Administration Manager as needed.
  • Supervise and/or provide customer training on product performance, features, benefits and use to support sales and marketing efforts.
  • Support trade show activities as required.
  • Provide product-oriented demonstrations as required.
  • Collaborate with the design, test and engineering teams as required to facilitate the product development process.
  • Manage and coordinate submission through acceptance and fielding of products into government procurement process.
  • Direct, conduct, and present market research to management on customers, market conditions, competitor activity and other indicators as related to product development.
  • Maintain end-user community contact in support of requirements generation for the new product development process and relationship building in professional user channels.
  • Work directly with the Government and International Business Administration Manager to ensure all administrative requirements are completed.
  • Collaborate directly with the International Sales Manager.
  • Travel is required up to 45% of the time; domestic and international.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 20 years' experience in sales.
  • Minimum of 15 years' experience in government and law enforcement sales.
  • Bachelor's degree in business focused studies a plus but not required.
  • Must have demonstrated experience with government contracting.
  • Must have demonstrated experience with Defense Logistics Agency.
  • Demonstrated experience with GSA as both a contract holder and vendor.
  • Experience with BERRY compliance to include manufacturing, contract writing, and compliance restrictions.
  • Experience interacting with government entities on both end-user and programmatic levels.
  • EDI integration experience.


Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of the firearms and firearms accessory industries a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, familiarity with naval letter format and other military correspondence formats, as well as military customs and courtesies.
  • Ability to strategize, manage large amounts of data and feedback while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, self-starter, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to assimilate, understand and convey the Magpul brand.
  • Ability to manage up to four employees.

Additional:
  • This position reports to the Director of International and Government Sales.
  • This position could be remote for candidate with significant inside sales presence 8 to 12 days per month or near one of the designated offices depending upon the needs of the company.
