The firm specializes in investigating a wide range of industrial, commercial, and other property losses, including explosions, fires, building collapses, equipment failures, and other catastrophic events. This role focuses on subrogation litigation, requiring inquisitive and creative thinking, technical research, and close collaboration with engineering, industry, and other experts.
Requirements:
- 2 to 5 years of complex litigation experience
- Product or construction defect litigation experience preferred
- Subrogation experience is a plus
- Proven ability to prepare pleadings, conduct discovery, and take/defend depositions
- Strong writing, research, and analytical skills
- Excellent academic credentials
- Effective interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to travel periodically within the U.S.
Responsibilities:
- Investigating property loss events to evaluate opportunities for tort and contract claims
- Collaborating with engineering and other experts to analyze technical issues
- Preparing and handling pleadings, discovery, and depositions
- Developing cases from inception through trial
- Addressing cutting-edge and novel scientific and legal issues
