DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: The Los Angeles LGBT Center's Department of Health Services is one of the nation's largest and most experienced providers of LGBTQ-specialized primary care and related services. Our mission to help LGBTQ people lead healthier, happier lives is supported by our comprehensive array of client-centered services including primary care, mental health, psychiatry, sexual health, pharmacy, case management, nutrition, clinical research, housing services, and a food pantry. The Center is one of a handful of Federally Qualified Health Centers in the nation specializing in serving LGBTQ people.

JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy Services, the Pharmacist Manager is responsible for all compliance related aspects of the pharmacy and direct oversight of the pharmacists. This position serves as the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to the Board of Pharmacy and serves as a liaison between the pharmacy and other clinical programs. The Pharmacist Manager works cooperatively with the Associate Director of Pharmacy Operations and team to keep the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy running smoothly and develop/implement workflow changes and act as a pharmacist if needed.

% of Role ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

35% Operations Management
Oversee all aspects of daily pharmacy operations with the Pharmacy Operations Manager under the supervision of the Associate Director of Pharmacy Operations.
Ensure timely completion of medication orders and operational efficiency.
Coordinate with the Associate Director of Pharmacy Operations on workflow, space, and system needs.
Assist with implementing new pharmacy policies, processes, and quality improvements.
Manage pharmacy-related contracts in collaboration with leadership.
Incorporate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles into all aspects of pharmacy practice.

30% QA, Improvement, and Compliance
Develop and maintain pharmacy Quality Assurance (QA) program that includes medication error reports and quarterly review meetings.
Coordinate new policy and quality improvement initiatives with the Director of Pharmacy Services.
Verify correct use of 340b inventory and billing code modifiers, and address audit findings in collaboration with Pharmacy Financial Coordinators.
Serve as Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) for the California State Board of Pharmacy, ensuring compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and regulations.
Maintain all pharmacy records as required by state and federal law.
Manage controlled substance inventory, including placing orders, reconciling reports, performing biennial inventory counts, and ensuring perpetual inventory maintenance.
Monitor pharmacy regulatory issues and make recommendations for compliance.

10% Other Duties
Participate in Medication Therapy Management Program activities with the Clinical Pharmacist.
Complete annual recertifications, license updates, and database management as required by law and contracts.
Perform all functions of a staff pharmacist as needed.
Serve as the initial contact for resolving patient issues alongside the Pharmacy Operations Manager.
Participate in and represent pharmacy in Health Services meetings, staff meetings, and planning sessions.
Act as liaison between the pharmacy and other departments.
Other duties as assigned by the Director or Associate Director of Pharmacy Services.

25% Management Responsibilities (Budgetary & Direct Supervisory)
Ensure pharmacists meet CE requirements and receive training in clinical services, cultural competency, medication safety, and laws and regulations.
Oversee pharmacist education programs, including supervising pharmacy residents, interns, and students.
Incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles into all aspects of pharmacy practice.
Budget and financial oversight.
Develop and monitor pharmacy budgets, as well as analyze and report financial trends to meet targets.
Supervise pharmacists, including scheduling, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and team building.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
PharmD from an accredited college of pharmacy.
Current licensure (unrestricted) to practice pharmacy in the State of California.
Minimum three years' pharmacy experience.
Ability to work evenings and weekends.
Background in HIV/AIDS and their drugs and pharmacology.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Proficiency with pharmacy, word processing, database operations, spreadsheets, and other software systems
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse races, ethnicities, ages, gender identities, and sexual orientations in a multicultural environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Two years' management experience.
Pharmacy in Charge (PIC) experience highly preferred.
Bilingual skills (English/Spanish)
Knowledge of PioneerRx.
