Hourly Rate: $100k-$142k
The Technical Manager oversees all chemical engineering and staffing activities of the slab stock, pillow process and tank farm areas. May direct activities with assistance of subordinate manager or supervisor. Actively participates with Global Process Engineering as well as R&D, making recommendations and decisions on matters pertaining to process engineering and process development. Leads best practices between facilities as well as manages and coordinates key projects pertaining to slab stock and material utilization.
What You Will Do:
Follow all safety guidelines and participate as a fully empowered team member to achieve organization-wide goal of zero incidents
Direct and manage all pour line and pillow operations, either directly or via subordinate managers and supervision
Implement and maintain all quality related records
Manage and coordinate all ES&H requirements for slab stock area
Continuously improve material usage through data analysis and corrective action
Work with Advance Technology (AT) on new formulas, materials, and sourcing of new product and raw materials
Determine when trials are required and facilitate completion of those trials
Plan and schedule all raw material and finished goods requirements to meet all production needs
Review and analyze all lab data to ensure product quality
Maintain high condition standards in department with preventative maintenance
Conduct Root Cause Analysis for continuous improvement
Capital expenditures experience and project management
Work closely with Global Sourcing
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

What You Will Need:
Position is hands-on and requires manager to be heavily involved in foam production process.
Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Chemical Engineering/Chemistry plus seven to ten years of directly related experience. Must have demonstrated experience managing department directly, foam lab development technician and via subordinate supervisor, and managing in a matrix's organization. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Expert math skills are needed to include the ability to work with mathematical concepts
Intermediate knowledge of PC usage required to include using Word, Excel, Microsoft Windows, and data entry operations, and statistical analysis (JMP/Minitab).
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, technical documents, and machine manuals.
Working knowledge of machine tools and plant utility systems
Expert math skills are needed to include the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and the metric system.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedures manual, and to comprehend basic instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor, lead, co-workers and other personnel.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English.
Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to wear a respirator or SCBA and additional PPE.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Depending on the duty being performed, gloves may be required. Safety shoes and glasses required.
Regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Works around hazardous materials.

Past technical foam and supervisory experience
Developing foam formulations, box pours, design of experiment (DOE) for new foam types
Past manager experience
Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification
