Position Summary
The Director of the Center on Education and Lifelong Learning (CELL) will provide visionary leadership and strategic oversight to the Center's initiatives, aimed at improving educational outcomes and promoting inclusive practices. CELL focuses on school improvement, inclusive education, and equitable access to learning for all students, including those with disabilities. The Director will lead efforts in professional development, community engagement, research-based practice implementation, research and evaluation, and policy advocacy that support the Center's mission of fostering inclusive education.
The Indiana Institute on Disability and Community (IIDC) at Indiana University is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities through research, education, and service. As a collaborative network, IIDC supports community inclusion, lifelong learning, and evidence-based practices. The institute partners with educators, policymakers, and families to create meaningful change and advance disability rights. With several centers, including the Center on Education and Lifelong Learning, IIDC provides technical assistance, training, and innovative solutions to support people with disabilities across the lifespan.
Key Responsibilities:
The Director will play a critical role in advancing CELL's mission to ensure that all students, regardless of their backgrounds or abilities, have access to high-quality, inclusive education. Through strategic leadership, collaboration, and innovation, the Director will help shape the future of education in Indiana and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Set and guide the overall direction of the Center's programs, ensuring alignment with CELL's mission to support school improvement and lifelong learning.
- Program Development and Oversight: Oversee and manage existing programs focused on professional development for educators, technical assistance to schools, and community education initiatives. Lead efforts to design new programs that address emerging needs in education.
- Research and Innovation: Study and promote the application of evidence-based practices to improve educational outcomes. Encourage innovation in inclusive education and develop strategies to disseminate research findings widely.
- Collaboration and Partnership: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with schools, state and national education agencies, community organizations, and other stakeholders to enhance CELL's influence and broaden its impact.
- Advocacy and Policy Engagement: Engage with policymakers to influence educational policies that promote inclusion, equity, and access for all students, particularly those with disabilities.
- Resource Development and Fundraising: Identify and pursue funding opportunities to sustain and grow CELL's work. Secure grants and other funding sources to support innovative projects and research.
- Staff and Fiscal Management: Provide leadership and mentorship to CELL staff, fostering a culture of growth and collaboration. Manage the Center's budget, ensuring responsible allocation of resources to meet program goals.
- IIDC Leadership Team: Serve as a collaborative member of the IIDC, including serving on the Institute's Leadership Team and working in partnership with other IIDC centers.

Basic Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Terminal degree in education, educational leadership, special education, or related fields.
- Extensive experience in school improvement, inclusive education, and equity-driven initiatives.
- Proven track record of leadership in managing programs, teams, and budgets.
- Strong background in research-based educational practices and the ability to translate research into effective practice.
- Demonstrated success in securing grants and other funding opportunities.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills, with experience engaging diverse stakeholders, including educators, policymakers, and community organizations.
