Director of Nursing

Responsibilities

For Student Affairs:

• Oversee student admission, academic progress, and graduation
• Evaluate student progress based on the ADN Nursing Program philosophy and objectives

For Faculty:

• Interview, select, and onboard qualified nursing faculty
• Supervise and assess program faculty, including in-class evaluations

For Program Development:

• Provide valuable feedback on course materials, practice changes, and student achievement
• Lead Program Advisory Board meetings

Professional Development:

• Stay current through continued education programs and academic courses
• Encourage staff and faculty professional growth through the same avenues

Qualifications

Education and Qualifications:

• Master of Science degree in Nursing from an institutional accredited school (either ACEN, CCNE, etc) is required
• Current unrestricted registered nurse license in Virginia

Experience:

• Minimum of two years of registered nursing experience, enabling leadership and role responsibilities
• Two years of full-time experience as a faculty member in an approved nursing program
• A minimum of two calendar years of prior full-time employment (or equivalent) in clinical nursing practice as a registered nurse or advanced practice nurse
