What is the role?
The Chief Medical Officer in Aerogen Pharma will provide medical and scientific leadership to the organization and represent our company in the neonatal medical community. Reporting into the CEO, you will be responsible for the clinical development strategy and external medical engagement. In addition, you will provide input into the commercial and business strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the Clinical Programs to meet the business, regulatory and ethical requirements of the Aerogen Pharma business
Provide medical input to the commercial success of the business, including working closely with the Aerogen Pharma management team and contributing to business plans
Support business strategies by implementation of studies, supporting applications for Investigator Initiated Research, management of advisory boards, interaction with clinical investigators and other key activities
Work closely with stakeholders across the business to accomplish delivery of product driven initiatives
Build and develop enduring peer-to-peer relationships with healthcare professionals and institutions, creating constructive, cross-functional partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
Preparation of scientific presentations/talks, responsibility for internal and external medical publications
Education and Experience
Medical Degree with significant experience in clinical study development and management with strong academic and industry network
Clinical experience with aerosol therapy, critical care, and/or respiratory care.
Good understanding of acute care environment at Global ( US, EMEA, AP) regional and country level
Good knowledge of pharmacovigilance and regulatory legislation and how it impacts the product portfolio
Ideal candidate will have Phase 2b - Phase 4 clinical studies design and execution experience, BLA/NDA authoring and defense
An understanding of the compliance framework for medical interactions in relation to global and local regulation
High degree of cross-functional collaboration with good leadership skills and business acument
Ability to communicate clearly information and concepts which may be complex in nature
A knowledge of health economics and its impact on medical decision making
Very good knowledge of English with good presentation skills
Talent for communication and organization
Proven ability to teamwork
