Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive pain management services to patients in an outpatient setting.
- Conduct thorough evaluations, assess pain levels, and develop personalized care plans for patients with chronic pain.
- Prescribe and manage pain medications, including opioids, as part of a safe and effective treatment plan for outpatients.
- Implement and monitor non-pharmacological treatments, such as physical therapy, injections, and other interventions, tailored to outpatient care.
- Educate patients on pain management techniques, lifestyle changes, and coping strategies during their visits.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (physicians, physical therapists, psychologists, etc.) to ensure comprehensive, patient-centered care in an outpatient environment.
- Perform follow-up visits, track treatment progress, and adjust plans as needed for ongoing outpatient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and outpatient standards.
- Provide patient education on the risks and benefits of various pain management strategies, including medication management, within the outpatient care framework.
Requirements
- Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP).
- Experience in pain management.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient education and empowerment.
