What You Will Do

Use your skills and enthusiasm to implement new employee training programs for one of the most important research institutions in the world. As a part of the Weapons Mission Services, New Employee Training and Workforce Development Group (WMS-1), you will be able to apply your excellent customer service, logistics, coordination and computer-based skillsets to assist new employees with onboarding, orientation and navigation through training programs within the Associate Laboratory Directorate for Weapons Production (ALDWP). The successful candidates will support a highly interactive and cooperative environment as NET Navigator supporting the following training activities:

ALDWP Onboarding and NET Academy Phase 0 Training

Level 2 Responsibilities include (not limited to):
  • Provide navigational guidance to a cohort of individuals, including getting to know LANL, following program schedule, and addressing basic new hire inquiries;
  • Leading efforts to implement program components within your team
  • Ensuring team deliverables and commitments are met with a high level of quality and customer satisfaction;
  • Calendar Management (coordinating activities with multiple calendars and resources);
  • Learning Management System Administration (issuing credit, managing course registration, course management, running reports);
  • Effectively utilize data from multiple applications to collate information to support customer service;
  • Implementing methods for effective metrics collection and data reporting;
  • Identifying process improvements and solutions to promote a culture of continuous learning;
  • Mentorship of other team members.


What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:

Operational Functions

Basic knowledge of business activities in an operational environment, including familiarity with one or more of the following: formality of operations, compliance practices, configuration management, training and qualification, and feedback and improvement.

Computer Skills/Business Systems

Knowledge of business and operations systems and standard software applications (i.e. Microsoft and Adobe products). Ability to quickly learn and adapt to use of LANL business systems (i.e. Oracle, UTrain, Issues Management, etc.). Ability to effectively manage multiple, complex and overlapping calendars.

Critical Thinking

Entry-level experience in conducting research, investigating alternative solutions, and recommending solutions on problems affecting facility operations and operational quality assurance.

Communication

Basic ability to conceptualize and communicate program requirements and detailed elements to both technical and non-technical personnel. Demonstrated skill with interpersonal, written, and verbal communications.

Customer Service

Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to provide clear, concise support and guidance to others in sometimes stressful situations. Ability to interact professionally with all types of personnel, including external interfaces and executive management.

Education and Experience

Level 2: Position requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of 4 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Laboratory new hire orientation processes and institutional training services.

Additional Education and Training
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Special Skills/Knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of documentation quality assurance, including document controls and records management.
  • Familiarity with regulatory guidance and the implementation thereof.
  • Experience with educational programs and/or academic institutions.

Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.

Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Additional Details

Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 . Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.

New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.

Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.

Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
