Nemours Children's Health Pensacola is seeking an Inpatient Advanced Practice Provider Lead to staff at Studer Family Children's Hospital at Ascension Sacred Heart.

The APP Variable will be required to assist in providing provider coverage in at 24-hour, 7 day-week model of care. Scheduled work hours may include overnight hours, holidays, and weekend coverage. The APP must be capable of self-directed independent and collaborative practice. Strong communication and inter- professional skills are required as the APP is a critical liaison between medical teams, nursing teams and families.

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for providing leadership for a team of Advanced Practice Providers and/or Specialty RNs in an area of specialized clinical practice.
  • Provides direct and indirect care to patients and their families in the inpatient setting.
  • Acts as a resource, role model, and clinical leader for the patient care team.
  • Responsible for planning, development, and utilization of human and material resources to meet departmental needs.
  • Mentors and develops staff.
  • Participates in departmental and hospital programs for continuous improvement.
  • Participates in meeting goals of the department.
  • Completes timely documentation as required by departmental policy and Nemours standards.
  • Participates in daily rounds.
  • On-call required.

Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a Physician Assistant program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation. Active license as a Physician Assistant in the State of Florida
  • Prior leadership experience preferred; experience may be combination of RN + APP experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience required

OR
  • Active Advanced Practice Nurse Licensure/Physician Assistant Licensure, with or without prescriptive authority
  • Current AHA BLS
  • Prior leadership experience preferred; experience may be combination of RN + APP experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience required

  • Studer Family Children's Hospital is the region's only children's hospital and is a full-service pediatric facility including a dedicated pediatric emergency department/trauma center, 48 general pediatric beds, 10 Hem/Onc beds and a 75 bed NICU. The hospital utilizes the Cerner EMR.
