Directs the office responsible for research and program evaluation; plans, organizes, supervises, and evaluates all activities, program functions, personnel, physical, and fiscal resources of the assigned office.

Qualifications

Required
  • Master's degree in education, statistics, research analysis, or related field.
  • Six (6) years of relevant and progressively more responsible experience in the field of statistics, conducting research in K-12 education, and data analysis or program evaluation, two (2) years of which shall have been in a leadership or supervisory role.
    • Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, and theories of modern management and trends related to the assigned office.
  • Knowledge of research methods, statistical analysis, and program evaluation using both qualitative and quantitative data and advanced statistical software in an applied setting.
  • Knowledge of research tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of public education, teaching, learning, and accountability issues.
  • Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to educational data sources, data privacy regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Skill in planning, developing, designing, and implementing activities that support educational research and program evaluation.
  • Ability to provide coaching on research design, methodological, and statistical decisions.
  • Ability to analyze trends and patterns in data to extract actionable insights.
  • Ability to manage fiscal, physical, capital, and human resources to successfully carry out the functions and programs of the office.
  • Ability to plan, organized, administer, supervise, evaluate, and lead to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and/or present information to groups.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with personnel assigned to schools, other departments, public entities, and citizens.
  • Proficiency in the use of technology and data compilation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to apply creative solutions to complex problems and develop new ideas and concepts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Preferred
  • Doctoral degree in education or related field.
  • Experience conducting educational research in a K-12 setting.
