Job Summary: The Director, Drug Delivery Systems leads the global healthcare program, responsible for the development process and provides direction as the market expert in developing a comprehensive business plan for the drug delivery and combination products industry. Responsible for developing an intimate understanding of new and existing customers, products, services and technologies in the drug delivery market segment. Work with the Sales organization to assist in closing new drug delivery business. Requirements include a B.S. Degree in a technical field, with a minimum of 15 years relevant experience. Must also have previous global healthcare program development experience, to include successful experience launching and managing drug delivery and combination devices and strong combination product knowledge and an understanding of 21 CFR 210, 211 Part 4, PMP certification preferred.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the business plan/strategy for the Drug Delivery (DD) & drug handling market, support creation of the infrastructure to support the new offering and manage operational readiness while working with internal stakeholders to assess the risk and risk mitigation strategy.
- Organize the team from required functional areas in the matrix organization to achieve short/long term goals and coach the product development and operational teams on drug delivery and drug handling requirements.
- Direct program configurations to ensure customer needs are met and adequate resources are available for successful program launch.
- Identifies new business opportunities, creates appropriate business plans and develops strong, long term, relationships with decision-makers at key customers and leverages relationships to achieve objectives.
- Support Business Development Managers (BDMs) within the DD sales process: customer presentations, quotations, technical guidance, closing business, program hand-off to New Product Development (NPD), etc.
- Support development of the drug delivery P&L.
- Assist with the creation of the team to meet compliance with 21 CFR Part 4
- Manage knowledge sharing across Sales, Operations and Product Management.
- Participate in the development activities for branding and promotional strategy.
- Work with the quoting organization to establish standards and templates specific to DD sub-segment.
- Penetrate the supply base (design, automation, and tooling) with a defined strategy map to support strategic goals.
- Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements.
Essential Qualifications:
- BS Technical Degree with a minimum of 15 years of experience.
- Must have successful experience in launching and managing drug delivery & combination devices.
- Must have combination product knowledge and understanding of 21 CFR 210, 211 Part 4.
- Consistent track record of developing customer relationships and networks in support of global healthcare business development.
- A minimum of 12 years successful track record in the healthcare industry.
- Demonstrated deep operational knowledge, strategic ability and experience in a business segment.
- Previous successful global healthcare program development experience required.
Desirable Qualifications:
- MS/MBA preferred.
- PMP certification preferred.
ADA Requirements:
- Typically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for frequent operation of a computer
- Stand, walk, bend, reach or otherwise move about regularly
- Lift, move, or otherwise transfer items up to 40 lbs. occasionally, >20 lbs. frequently
- Occasional exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards
- Travel by air or car frequently
