As the GIS Project Application manager for NRG (O&R MAPPING SYSTEM) to GIS Migration, you will play a pivotal role in understanding and mapping assets, business rules, and workflow processes related to O&R Electric and Gas utility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in O&R utility operations, coupled with proven success in GIS migration projects. Candidate will be expected to lead deployment planning, participate in design workshops and collaborate on design issue. This role requires a keen understanding of business needs, the ability to advocate for stakeholders, and effective communication to bridge the gap between business units and vendors

Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Project Leadership: Lead and coordinate the GIS project team throughout the NRG to GIS migration, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines. Leads deployment planning and Production cut-over and Go-Live activities. In addition, lead the on-going support and maintenance activities.
- Orange & Rockland Electric and Gas Utility Expertise: Leverage your experience in Electric and Gas utility to map assets, understand business rules, and optimize workflow processes for accurate GIS representation.
- Customer Advocacy: Act as a liaison between the GIS project team and the O&R Business Engineering Unit, understanding their needs, advocating for their requirements, and ensuring alignment with project deliverables.
- Functional Needs Analysis: Work collaboratively with stakeholders to understand the functional needs of the new GIS application, ensuring that it aligns with business objectives. Participates in requirements and designworkshops. Collaborate on design issues to provide unified solution tomeetO&R requirements and validate/confirm businessrequirements.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with vendors to ensure that the GIS application meets the functional requirements of O&R business units and resolve any issues that may arise during the migration process.
- Communication and Collaboration: Foster effective communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that project progress is transparent, and potential challenges are proactively addressed.
- Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance measures to guarantee data accuracy and system functionality during the migration.
- Workshop Participation: Actively participate and engage in workshops, contributing insights and expertise to shape functionality strategies and decisions. Participates in requirements, design, and data migration workshops.
- Documentation: Create, maintain, review and approve comprehensive documentations related to GIS mapping processes, business rules, and workflow optimization.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree Bachelors degree in GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Masters degree is a plus. and a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience. or
- Master's Degree Masters degree in GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. and a minimum of 2 years with relevant work experience.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Required
- Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Required
- Proven experience in GIS project management, specifically in electric and gas utility operations. Required
- In-depth knowledge of engineering business rules, asset mapping and workflows. Required
- Strong understanding of GIS applications and technologies. Required
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion

- Effective interpersonal skills
- Driver's License Required
- Sit or stand to answer a phone for the duration of the workday
- Sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the duration of the workday
- Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
