Position Overview:

The Controller will work in tandem with the Chief Administrative Officer to provide timely and accurate financial information to the owners on a regular and ad hoc basis. They will oversee the maintenance of financial transactions, oversee software connectivity and set-up, and be responsible for the full accounting cycle. In addition, they will manage internal resources to meet budgets and deadlines.

Essential Functions:
  • Perform all work according to the company's methods, policies and procedures.
  • Balance and maintain accurate ledgers, reconcile with general ledger.
  • Download accounting transactions for integration with multiple systems for accounting and reconciliation.
  • Manage the entire Accounts Payable function from invoice receipt through payment.
  • Invoicing and collection of accounts receivable.
  • Management of the entire inventory process from the ordering of supplies through receiving, transfers, usage and physical inventory counts.
  • Payroll processing & benefits management.
  • Prepare accounting work papers, including trial balances and depreciation schedules.
  • Prepare/analyze monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll reporting.
  • Prepare/analyze monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting.
  • Prepare sales and use tax returns
  • Prepare annual 1099s.
  • Preparation of annual business license and business personal property tax filings
  • Manage the accounting department's relationships with other departments within the company.
  • Perform other duties as requested by company ownership.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Staff accountants, inventory process management w/medical personnel
  • Implements training or identifies training opportunities with other team members insofar as it relates to improving accounting processes within the organization.

Minimum requirements:
BA in Accounting
8-10 yrs. of related exp. with increasing responsibility, including personnel management.
  • CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft365 Suite of products required: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.

Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online preferred.

  • Experience w/eClinicalWorks software and Space Trax inventory management software a plus.


Other Skills / Abilities:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to prioritize daily tasks and meet timely obligations.
  • Knowledge of accounting processes and advanced mathematical skills
  • Skilled using various accounting software and experience in troubleshooting common accounting program problems.
  • Personal integrity when working with personnel and sensitive financial information
  • Professional experience in financial forecasting and risk analysis

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional non-local travel may be required no more than 5-10% of the year.
  • Occasional lifting of boxes and/or paperwork up to 25 pounds.
