POSITION SUMMARY
The Safety Manager will develop, implement, and manage safety programs to ensure a safe and compliant working environment in our organization. This role is responsible for identifying and mitigating risks, training employees, and ensuring adherence to OSHA, local, and company safety regulations. This individual will foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement throughout the organization and all divisions.

The starting target salary range is $100,000 - $125,000, depending upon qualifications and experience. Expanded pay ranges may be available for growth and advancement opportunities. In addition to base salary, the compensation package also includes eligibility for a profit-sharing opportunity. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and drive short and long-term goals for LSI's safety program.
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., OSHA).
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections of the manufacturing facility and construction job sites to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses; determine root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive measures. Trend safety data to make informed corrective action plans.
- Provide safety training and education for employees, contractors, and management, including topics such as hazard communication, PPE use, emergency preparedness, and ergonomic practices. Develop educational materials such as safety manuals, presentations, and toolbox talks.
- Act as the emergency response captain; owns the process and execution.
- Maintain detailed records of incidents and safety compliance.
- Maintain and update all safety documentation, including OSHA logs, training records, and compliance reports. Submit to appropriate agencies as needed.
- Lead and facilitate safety committee meetings to review safety metrics, address employee concerns, and drive safety initiatives.
- Collaborate with supervisors and department managers to promote safe work practices and integrate safety into production processes.
- Managing the organization's workers' compensation claims and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Coordinate with employees, insurance providers, and legal representatives to handle claims efficiently while minimizing costs and maintaining employee satisfaction. Coordinate return-to-work programs, including light-duty accommodations.
- Monitor and report on safety KPIs, trends, and compliance performance to senior leadership.
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging safety technologies, and regulatory changes to recommend and implement best practices.
- Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is available and properly used.
- Manage safety-related contractors and vendors, including industrial hygiene consultants and equipment and PPE suppliers.
- Continue to build the safety programs and bring a higher level of safety awareness to the organization.
- Drive safety through CI efforts, incorporating more into our department presentations, Kaizen events, etc with clear and specific metrics; identify and assist in implementing corrective and preventative actions to enhance the safety programs.
- Review and maintain SDS's for all divisions.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental health and safety, industrial hygiene, risk management and safety, human resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in safety management, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Ability to travel to all divisions and some job sites (approximately 2-3 days every one to two months).
- Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practices.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels.
- Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, ASP, or OSHA certification) is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
