Compensation: $125,000 - $220,000 / year
Description
The Sales Engineer serves as a technical resource for the sales team as well as an extension of the engineering group to meet design requirements of customer applications. The Sales Engineer's primary focus is to work in conjunction with Account Managers and Regional Account Directors to identify new opportunities, provide application knowledge and technical support to targeted product and service initiatives, market segments, and key customers. In addition, the Sales Engineer develops and provides fluid handling solutions/designs to specific customer needs and specifications through project support or onsite troubleshooting as part of evaluation and advisory services.

Strategic Business Development:
- Actively engage in customer meetings, presentations, and solution-based selling to promote targeted products and services, ensuring alignment with SNC's growth objectives.
- Work closely with the marketing team to design and execute targeted campaigns, customer engagement initiatives, and operational activities that align with Swagelok Northern California's business and marketing plans, driving growth and value within prioritized markets.
- Develop deep understanding of customers' application needs and create solutions/designs that would solve customers' problems and add value to their operations.
Fluid System Optimization:
- Collaborate with other Engineers on technical applications and solutions.
- Develop and provide fluid handling solutions to specific customer needs and specifications through project support or onsite troubleshooting, which may include creating P&ID's of potential solutions.
- Perform system evaluations of customer fluid systems to identify layout improvements, drive plant efficiencies, and provide insight into best practices to improve the functionality and/or maintainability of customer systems.
- Troubleshoot customer applications and propose alternative products or processes to optimize functionality.
Product Expertise Application:
- Select and recommend products for specific customer applications.
- Identify the changing application needs for new products and existing products while providing feedback to the appropriate Swagelok personnel on improvements to products or services.
- Serve as the Swagelok representative in support of existing installations and product returns
Training Support:
- Provide training and technical support on products and applications to SSC associates.
Personal Development:
- Develop yourself through external and internal training, continuing education, and job rotation, wherever relevant.
Education, Experience, Skills, and Competencies
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering areas (required)
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience with fluid control systems or related products in industries such as Oil & Gas, Clean Energy, or other General Market applications, focusing on their unique operational challenges and requirements.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Sales Engineers spend 75% of their time working at customer facilities within SNC's territory and are regularly present on-site at our Fremont office.
- Travel extends, occasionally, outside of the SNC territory.
- Continually required to sit or stand
- Occasionally required to move around an office, production, or warehouse environment
