Mechanical Engineer - Fabrication
The Mechanical Engineer - Fabrication oversees all Engineering disciplines for a fabrication facility and ensures that each are staffed properly, working efficiently within their respective disciplines, collaborating with other disciplines, and adhering to the CAM standards and protocols.
Responsibilities / Requirements
Monitor and assess performance of all Engineering disciplines across active projects
Participate in scheduling of Engineering and Design activities
Set expectations and delegate roles and responsibilities for each of the Engineering Department managers
Monitor team member performance
Proactively identify issues and propose solutions
Coordinate directly with the Design Manager to create standard plans, processes, and procedures for the Engineering staff to use and abide by
Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and methods used by the engineering staff
Conduct various quality assurance checks
Conduct lessons learned to improve standards and procedures
Monitor staffing to determine training needs
Assist with hiring and training
Communicate and collaborates with other managers, suppliers, and contractors
Assist in determining Scopes of Work and estimating hours to complete it
Required Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
14 years minimum Engineering experience
PE Licensed in Texas with ability to be licensed in other states as well (preferred)
5+ years of previous management experience
Preferred Skills
Proficient in Compress
Strong problem solving/troubleshooting.
Intuitive; able to identify client needs with minimal information.
