Koniag Professional Services, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Senior Program Officer to support KPS and our government customer in Washington, DC. This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity.

The Senior Program Officer will play a crucial role in planning and implementing exchange programs in coordination with regional bureaus, offices, agencies, and posts. This position will provide high-level support to executive operatives, reviewing and advising on budgets, grants, travel arrangements, training, information system support, and domestic representation. The Senior Program Officer will confirm and prioritize project plans and deliverables in collaboration with supervisors and stakeholders, ensuring effective program administration, oversight, and monitoring.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as International Relations, Public Administration, or a related discipline is preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in program administration, operations, or a related field
  • Significant familiarity or direct experience working on Department of State or similar diplomatic programs
  • Experience with U.S. government and State Department administrative policies and procedures

Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software and database applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent teamwork and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to interact with diverse cultures in a sensitive manner
  • Familiarity with program administration, oversight, and monitoring procedures

Desired Skills and Competencies:
  • Foreign language skills
  • Direct experience in relevant program fields (e.g., exchange programs, diplomacy, international relations)
  • Knowledge of database systems and information system support

Working Environment & Conditions

This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.

The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
