Job Summary
A key leader on the development leadership team, this position manages mid-level and junior developers. Works collaboratively with senior developers, project managers, and vendor system managers. Performs hands-on duties for development projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet rigorous standards while shaping the growth and success of the team. Hybrid work options may be available for this position, with the ability to be on-site at the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign campus as needed per the University's Workplace Flexibility policy. Most on-site work will be accomplished in a typical office work environment but may include visits to different customer and meeting locations on campus. May be required to be on call in cases of system failure or development deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications
Any one or any combination totaling 5 years (60 months) from the following categories:
A. College coursework which includes Information Technology (IT), IT Management, Programming, IT Systems, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
Associate's Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
B. Work experience in IT-related functions such as hardware/software support, programming, network design, network engineering, IT systems integration, or closely related field, which includes supervisory or lead worker capacity. Demonstrated application development experience in a Microsoft .NET/SQL environment. Demonstrated experience working as a team lead on application development projects. Preferred Qualifications
This is a 100% full-time Civil Service 5030 - Information Technology Manager/Administrative Coordinator position, appointed on a 12-month basis. The expected start date is as soon as possible after 2/9/2025. Thisposition has a typical salary range of $90,000 - $110,000. Salary is competitive andcommensurate with qualifications and experience, while also consideringinternal equity.
Thisposition is eligible for remote/hybrid work. May be required to be on call incases of system failure or development deadlines.

- Manage and mentor developers, providing guidance and direction to ensure project success and professional growth.
Collaborate with senior technical staff to mentor and build the technical expertise of the team.
Hire, conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify professional development opportunities.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and adherence to development and documentation standards. - Assist the Associate Director with budget development, project estimates and resource metrics.
- Act on behalf of the Associate Director as appropriate, working with departmental leadership and campus initiatives.
- Analyze, design, develop and implement systems and procedures to address complex business needs. Evaluate policies, identify issues and priorities.
- Determine and lead development projects, platform and tool migrations.
- Prepare detailed requirements, specifications, test plans, and other documentation required to guide technical development.
- Collaborate to make recommendations for standards, quality assurance, architecture and deployment strategies
- Work with other Technology Services units and campus to ensure systems meet security standards.
- Evaluate new and emerging technologies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned, including on-call support as needed.

- Experience with University of Illinois data management systems (Banner/EDW, campus authentication, and campus credit card processing systems).
- Experience with healthcare systems.
