OBJECTIVE:
The Operations Manager will manage the personnel in the administrative, veterinary technical, animal care and support positions to include verifying that BIOQUAL policy, procedures and quality standards are followed. The Operations Manager insures that applicable federal, state and company regulations are adhered to, and that client needs are appreciated.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Bachelor's Degree in Biological Science
AALAS Certification at LATg level
At least 5 years of animal and NHP laboratory experience
NHP Management experience
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage personnel in the animal facility.
- Train staff as needed, both individually and in groups, maintaining proper documentation.
- Visually inspect technical procedures being performed and all documentation by technical staff to determine the procedures are performed correctly and recorded completely and accurately.
- Visually inspect animal care areas, for compliance with company SOPs and federal regulations.
- Verify electronically stored data that is generated and stored in-house, including databases, clinical records, and shared file systems are accurate and up to date.
- Oversee an inventory of technical and animal care supplies, managing orders as needed.
- Provide input and assistance with special orders and purchase requests.
- Follow up on the information provided by the IACUC's Post Approval Monitoring, Annual Monitoring, and Special Reporting protocols, as required by the USDA, FDA, PHS, and AAALAC.
- Assist with facility inspection/visit preparation (ex: CDC, USDA, FDA, AAALAC, client visit, etc.).
- Interact with clients and PIs, internally and externally, as needed by the company and/or study.
- Receive and oversee maintenance of the inventory of study materials and supplies from clients.
- Coordinate with the Facility's Facility and Operations Manager and other employees as needed.
- Perform veterinary technical duties as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
