WHAT YOU'LL DO...
As the Production Manager, you will be responsible for driving strategic and continuous improvement initiatives, overseeing performance metrics, and ensuring operational efficiency across the business.
You'll guide and mentor employees, foster a positive work culture, and manage staff performance. With a thorough understanding of policies, procedures, and practices, you will engage in problem-solving to address inefficiencies, refine company processes, and implement improvements.
Your technical expertise and knowledge of Lean manufacturing will be key in optimizing production operations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO...
As the Production Manager, you will be responsible for driving strategic and continuous improvement initiatives, overseeing performance metrics, and ensuring operational efficiency across the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure the health and safety of the team
- Carry out the implementation of plans in support of the departmental and corporate business objectives
- Provide support, guidance, direction, mentoring and coaching to staff
- Manage the efficiency and effectiveness of the department
- Plan staff levels and participate in recruitment, hiring and firing decisions
- Lead employees using Waterplay's performance management and development process
- Understand and uphold Waterplay's policies and procedures
- Manage the departmental budget, making adjustments as necessary to achieve targets
- Manage vacations and time off, hold staff accountable on attendance and efficiency rate
- Develop a culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement and high performance
- Maintain work schedules, track daily production schedule, adjust schedule and allocate resources according to production forecast
- Creates and optimizes engineering masters from BOMs to enhance production flow and resource leveling
- Report issues impacting productivity, propose solution, and work with the team to implement improvement
- Maintain record of all tools and equipment including preventive maintenance log
- Plan and maintain the plan to cross train team as needed. Identify gaps in resource allocation and ensure proper resource planning is in place
- Take ownership of WIP and off cut inventory. Maintain an inventory count of production stock item and ensure stock level meets demand
- Report NCR and complete assigned NCRs properly
- Review drawings/system discrepancy with the team and report ECR
- Designs, develops, and generates ad-hoc and regular production reports
- Provides orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems
- Be a champion on production floor with new initiatives and changes to encourage the team to adopt and provide constructive feedback
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years business experience in a production supervisory/management role
- Engineering or Business Diploma or higher
- Experience with materials and fabrication processes
- Experience with machining and welding
OTHER INFORMATION:
- This is an onsite position located in Kelowna, BC. (805 Crowley Ave, Kelowna, BC).
- This position works Monday to Friday, 8-hour days.
