Plans and directs the overall operation of a major department (with institutional oversight) and provides leadership for staff members. Eligible for ORP retirement. Under executive direction, performs highly varied administrative duties involving the use of independent judgment and professional skills. Responsible for all employees assigned to area.

Major/Essential Functions

  • This position serves as the primary financial operations oversight for the TTUHSC SON Combest. In this role the managing director plans and directs the overall operation of a major department (with institutional oversight) and provides leadership for staff members.
  • Under executive direction, performs highly varied administrative duties involving the use of independent judgment and professional skills.
  • Responsible for all employees assigned to area
  • Is an active member of the departments Leadership Team
  • Coordinate business management activities for the LCCHWC and all related programs and locations
  • Plan, coordinate and direct broad and complex financial and management functions for the LCCHWC and all related programs and locations, such as grant management, billing, budget preparation and control, clinical/agency agreements and contracts, reports, etc.
  • Review previous year's budget and performance for LCCHWC and all related programs and locations. Develop and make recommendations on findings
  • Provided leadership and assistance with activities associated with determining these objectives including researching and updating data, financial budgets and trends, to determine short-range and long-range plans
  • Develop, manage, and monitor the operating budget and grant budgets and insure efficient utilization of financial resources of the LCCHWC and all related programs and locations
  • Assure fiscal compliance with in-house budgets and Institutional policies by reviewing all POs, Travel applications, prior to signing for approval
  • Assure compliance for timely payments to vendors, completion of forms, agency payments, etc. for the LCCHWC and all related programs and locations.
  • Ensure reconciliation of banner statements for the LCCHWC and all related programs and locations monthly
  • Provide information to and work with Institution auditors and outside auditors for the LCCHWC and all related programs and locations
  • Serves as Departmental Compliance Director for local and regional sites
  • Addresses internal/external concerns about employee or clinic performance and resolves and documents effectively and timely
  • Supervises billing, coding and IT staff and completes all associated supervisory functions.
  • Is acclimated with EMR, Cerner, and Centricity
  • Align with the TTUHSC Value-Based Culture, Vision, & Mission of the TTUHSC, SON, & Combest


Preferred Qualifications

  • Seven plus years of fiscal management in a professional setting
  • Grant fund management and reporting experience
  • Experience navigating and extracting data from Cognos
  • Thorough understanding and experience with TTUHSC policies, especially policies related to Fund Manager, Contract Management, Purchasing, Sponsored Programs, and Cash Handling
  • Experience with cash handling and pCard management.
  • Experience developing reports and corresponding graphs depicting data represented
  • Five or more years of supervisory experience
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic plans for the the department


Pay Statement

Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan website.

Occasional Duties

  • Travel to regional sites.
  • Serve as backup for other supervisors.
  • Conduct presentations as identified.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred. Seven years progressively responsible management experience required. Education beyond bachelor's level may substitute for required experience on a year-for-year basis.
