Job Summary

IQGeo is seeking a Software Engineer to support our efforts for engineering, configuration, customization, and deployment of our software solutions for domestic and international customers. This role joins a dynamic team that enjoys working with complex applications and products that utilize geospatial software, GIS, engineering, and problem-solving skills. The Software Engineer is based in the United States to support our growing North American customer base.

As an integral part of the IQGeo Technical Implementation services team, the successful candidate will contribute to customizing and implementing IQGeo products to our customers.

Key responsibilities include the following
  • Participate in Scrum meetings and product sprints
  • Perform coding assignments
  • Review code work for accuracy and functionality
  • Support the Quality Assurance Engineer with test design and execution


Essential skills
  • Excellent programming skills:
    • JavaScript
    • Python
    • SQL
  • Experience with frameworks:
    • React
    • JQuery
    • Node.js
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (English)
  • Capable of working alone, as part of a team
  • Experience with:
    • Docker Containers
    • Kubernetes
    • AWS
    • PostgreSQL/PostGIS databases
    • Redhat or Ubuntu Linux
    • Apache Web Servers
    • Github Source Control
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.


Desirable skills
  • Experience with large Data Migration and ETL activities
  • Experience with GCP and Azure a plus
  • Experience with configuration and use of Jira in a Scrum and Agile Software development environment
  • A desire for continuous improvement
  • Understanding of Geographical Information Systems


Education and Experience
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of comparable technology and industry experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a software engineer, preferably within Scrum and Agile Software development teams.


Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
