Job Title: Product Manager - Acceleration

The Product Manager Acceleration provides global support to Sales for the Acceleration Portfolio from the Production Center in Buffalo, NY where most of these product lines are manufactured. The PM will respond to requests for technical information regarding the Acceleration product lines, and their applications. The PM is also responsible for the strategic roadmap, initiates new development projects and promoting actively the Launch of his new Products, to pursue to grow the global acceleration sensor market and strengthen the portfolio.

Primary Responsibilities

Strategic Management:
  • Own, define, and manage the product roadmap for acceleration sensors, complete Solutions and associated Services, aligning with global market trends, customer needs, and business objectives.
  • Develop the strategic roadmap for the Acceleration product lines and complete Solutions.
  • Pushes and promote the Acceleration portfolio and it's Services globally by onsite Trainings, Customer Visits, marketing activities and Inhouse Trainings in the Headquarter Winterthur, Switzerland.
  • Establish business case documents for PLC Projects by collaborating with Sales, Service department and the Product Development team.
  • Manages the entire product lifecycle from initial concept to phase-out by collaborating with the Product Development team, Sales Regions and Kistler Headquarter (Switzerland).

Collaboration and Coordination:
  • Collaborate with engineering, sales, Service and marketing teams to develop innovative sensor solutions tailored to various testing and Process Industry applcations.
  • Work closely with legal, quality, and operations teams to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and documentation requirements.
  • Coordinate with supply chain and manufacturing to ensure timely production and delivery.
  • Coordinate new product releases and obsolescence by collaborating with the PM Excellence and Marketing Excellence Team.
  • Approve custom product requests from Sales to R&D and Production.
  • Collaborates at internal Workshops and global Trade fairs

Market and Product Analysis:
  • Conduct market analysis to identify new opportunities and refine existing product offerings.
  • Analyze sales figures and monitor the competition.
  • Set pricing for the Acceleration Portfolio based on competitive market analysis.
  • Define forecast figures for the Acceleration Portfolio on a quarterly basis.

Customer and Sales Support:
  • Gather customer feedback and use it to inform product improvements and future developments.
  • Provide Acceleration product support to Sales, Business Units (BUs), and Divisions
  • Supports Trade shows with marketing content, demo units and booth service

Documentation and Compliance:
  • Prepare documentation for sales and corporate purposes.
  • Prepare documentation and equipment for training purposes.
  • Review and contribute to responses for RFPs, RFIs, and other government procurement documents relative to FAR/DFAR compliance.
  • Define and maintain new types in SAP (material master data).
  • Determine, obsolete, and streamline the Acceleration products when necessary.
  • Complete PM Change Request tasks as assigned.

Reporting:

  • The PM Acceleration reports to the Head of Product Management Division Generic Products at the Headquarters in Winterthur, Switzerland.


Candidate Requirements

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Electrical or Mechanical preferred); additional business management degree, a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management or engineering, preferably in sensors or measurement technology related industries.
  • Experience working on roadmap strategies.
  • Experience with measurement technologies (Piezoelectric, Acceleration preferred).
  • Experience with Research/Testing and/or Process Industry applications

Skills and Knowledge:
  • Excellent strategic and analytical skills.
  • Distinctive written and verbal communication ability
  • Driver Gen and the will to make a difference
  • Willingness to travel and international alignment with the internal organizations
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience working in ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Experience working in technical product support, a plus.
  • Experience working in an international environment, a plus.
  • Knowledge of acceleration sensor technology and its applications.
  • Familiarity with FAR/DFAR requirements and government contracting processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in market analysis, product positioning, and competitive analysis.
  • Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001 and AS9100.

Physical Requirements & Travel Requirements
  • Estimated desk work 60-80% a day.
  • Estimated 20-30% domestic and international travel (Europe, Asia, etc).
