DIRECTOR, FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION

Step into a pivotal leadership role at Strides Toronto as our Director, Finance and Administration. We are seeking a hands-on, highly organized professional with a passion for operational excellence, a technology-driven mindset, and a commitment to continuous improvement. As the Director, Finance and Administration, you will lead the operational backbone of Strides Toronto, overseeing financial management, facilities operations, and administrative services. Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Services, this is a hands-on role requiring an exceptional ability to manage complex funding requirements and reporting, while driving efficiencies and innovation. You will play a critical role in ensuring our organization runs smoothly and effectively and provide leadership in financial management, facilities operations, and administrative functions to support the organization's mission and strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee financial functions including accounting, reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, and audit preparation, ensuring compliance with funder requirements and public sector standards.
  • Manage and streamline funding reporting processes for a variety of funders, maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Roll up your sleeves to develop and enhance financial systems, leveraging technology (e.g., advanced Excel) to improve efficiency and accountability.
  • Lead operational functions, including facilities management, lease agreements, and procurement activities.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to enhance processes, policies, and systems.
  • Mentor and guide the finance and administration team to ensure delivery of high-quality, timely, and accurate services.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align operations with organizational goals and strategic priorities.


Qualifications:
  • A degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA).
  • Strong technical expertise in financial management, with advanced proficiency in MS Excel (e.g., pivot tables, financial modeling, and automation).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex funding reporting processes and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Proven leadership experience in financial and operational management, ideally within a public or non-profit sector.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and a solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience in facilities management, procurement, and risk mitigation is an asset.
