Key Responsibilities:
- Define Architectural Vision and Strategy: Develop and communicate a clear architectural vision and strategy for NextGen HCM, ensuring alignment with ADP's overall business objectives and technology goals.
- Lead Architectural Governance: Establish and enforce architectural standards, guidelines, and best practices, conducting architectural reviews and providing guidance to ensure compliance with standards.
- Oversee Product Architecture: Lead the design and architecture of NextGen HCM products, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and secure.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with engineering, product management, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into architectural solutions.
- Drive Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement within NextGen HCM.
- Ensure Operational Excellence: Implement robust processes for monitoring, managing, and optimizing the performance of NextGen HCM products.
- Mentor and Lead Technical Teams: Provide technical leadership and mentorship to architects and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team.
- Champion Technical Debt Reduction: Identify and prioritize areas of technical debt within NextGen HCM, developing and executing plans to address technical debt and improve system health.
- Promote a Culture of Security: Ensure that security is a key consideration in all architectural decisions, implementing best practices for authentication, identity management, and data protection.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or closely related field
- Proven Experience: 8+ years of experience in product-focused technology organizations, with 3+ years of experience in HCM product development.
- Technical Expertise: Strong background in designing and architecting complex, scalable systems, with expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and modern architectural patterns.
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and mentorship abilities, with experience leading technical teams and driving innovation.
- Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and communicate a clear architectural vision and strategy, with strong problem-solving skills and a strategic mindset.
- Experience building distributed development teams and acting as point of contact for stakeholders.
- 4+ years of experience in leadership and managerial capacities with cross-disciplinary teams including product, software engineering, infrastructure, security, automated testing, and build tooling
- 2+ years of experience with cloud providers
- Track record of evolving engineering team capabilities with recognized improvements
- Full-stack software development knowledge - including modern technology stacks, public cloud services, container orchestration and scheduling frameworks, distributed databases, and UI frameworks
- Maintain hands-on interest in current technology trends
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a role managing multiple reporting levels
- Knowledge of low-code development platforms
- Knowledge and interest in full-stack JavaScript frameworks, including Node.j and ReactJS
- Background in microservices architecture and container orchestration and scheduling frameworks (Kubernetes)
- Experience with AWS services including but not limited to Lambda, RDS, S3, EC2, SageMaker, OpenSearch, Kinesis, SQS, DynamoDB
