What You'll Do
As our Director of Development, you'll lead a high-performing team by example in creating and executing innovative strategies that support our mission. Your responsibilities will include:
Strategic Planning & Budget Management
- Develop, oversee and implement comprehensive development strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Manage the department's budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and collaboration with finance teams for accurate reporting and reconciliations.
Donor Relations & Stewardship
- Cultivate and solicit major gift contributors, fostering partnerships and advancing donor engagement.
- Implement a robust donor recognition system, including events, printed materials, and personalized outreach.
Fundraising & Revenue Generation
- Drive impactful annual fund programs and campaigns, including Giving Tuesday, Year-End Appeals, Legacy Giving, and more.
- Oversee grant research and applications, ensuring consistency and alignment with organizational priorities.
- Lead signature fundraising events and act as the key liaison for Gift of Life Howie's House.
Marketing & Brand Management
- Amplify our brand through compelling collateral, newsletters, e-news, and social media campaigns.
- Ensure alignment across all public messaging to strengthen community engagement and support.
What You'll Bring
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) and at least eight years of relevant experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, marketing, public relations, or event design and management.
- Expertise: Proven experience in development strategy, donor stewardship, event management, and fundraising campaigns.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with fundraising databases.
- Leadership: A collaborative and forward-thinking approach to managing teams and achieving goals.
