We currently have a career opportunity for a full-time Director of Facilities based out of our corporate office (Enterprise) in Appleton!

TheDirector of Facilities ensures that the credit union's physical spaces meet the needs of the credit union by providing support and improvement services that are in alignment to creating a lasting member experience and create a work environment that allows team members to be successful. This includes the maintenance and upkeep of the physical environment, compliance of workplace health and safety standards, space management, emergency preparedness, contract management, budget development and adherence, and a forward-thinking approach. In this role, you will directly lead 2-5 team members on the Facilities team ensuring their connection to our intentional culture and their personal growth & development.

The primary responsibilities of the Director of Facilities role include but are not limited to:

Team Leadership and Development:
  • Promoting and upholding the Fox Purpose, Mission, Vision, and Values
  • Hiring, monitoring, and supporting development for the Facilities team, providing daily performance and growth and development coaching to team members
  • Fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and professional growth

Facilities Management:
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of all facilities, including office buildings, storage buildings, and other properties
  • Optimizing space utilization by exploring workspace designs, hoteling arrangements and tracking, and efficient layouts that support collaboration and ever-changing needs
  • Developing and implementing comprehensive facility management plans to ensure optimal functionality and efficiency
  • Coordinating and collaborating with other leaders and stakeholders to understand their facility needs and provide appropriate support
  • Conducting regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and opportunities for improvement
  • Implementing preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of facility assets
  • Integrating and expanding the usage of the standard service request system to streamline requests and work tickets
  • Developing an Asset Management program for all furniture and equipment that aligns with Accounting's fixed assets tracking

Budgeting and Cost Management:
  • Developing and managing the facilities operational, capital, and fixed asset budgets, including forecasting expenses, monitoring costs, and identifying areas for cost-savings initiatives
  • Obtaining competitive bids (RFPs) for facility-related services and negotiating contracts with vendors and suppliers in conjunction with our vendor management team
  • Tracking expenditures and ensuring that spending aligns with budgetary constraints while maintaining high-quality standards

Project Management:
  • Leading in the creation of business cases supporting facilities projects, ensuring the proper due diligence and collaboration of the project has been considered
  • Overseeing facility-related construction, renovation, and remodeling projects from conception to completion
  • Developing project plans, timelines, and budgets, and ensuring that projects are executed on schedule and within budgetary constraints
  • Coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, internal teams, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met effectively

Compliance, Safety and Sustainability:
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards related to building maintenance, safety, and environmental health
  • Developing and enforcing safety protocols and procedures to create a secure work environment from team members, visitors, and tenants
  • Staying up to date with regulatory changes and industry best practices to continually improve facility operations and safety measures
  • Developing long-term plans to positively position the credit union with industry standard sustainability practices such as energy-efficient upgrades, waste reduction strategies, and eco-friendly building materials

Candidates for the Facilities Director position should possess:
  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Facility Management Professional (FMP) Certification or Certified Facility Manager (CFM) is a plus.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable; CDL licensing is a plus.
  • Ten or more years of proven experience in facilities management, with a track record of successfully overseeing complex facilities and managing teams
  • Strong knowledge of property elements, including roofs, parking lots, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire protection systems, pest control, signage, painters, landscapers, etc.
  • Familiarity with facility management software and systems for maintenance tracking, inventory management, and budgeting
  • Familiarity with relevant health and safety codes
  • Understanding of maintenance requirements for both old and new buildings
  • Knowledge of emergency response procedures and business continuity planning
  • Experience in managing construction projects, renovations, and other facility-related initiatives
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong math skills and the ability to create and monitor budgets
  • Proficiency in negotiating contracts and pricing for construction and facilities work
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Sound judgment and the ability to make informed decisions
  • Ability to plan for future needs and growth
