Responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, planning, coordination, administration, and evaluation of all HR functions for a large restaurant company employing 1800+ team members in nearly 40 locations and three states. The Director is responsible for developing and ensuring effective operation of plans, systems, policies, and processes for talent acquisition, total rewards (benefits and compensation structures), payroll and related recordkeeping, employee relations, and legal compliance. Operates as both manager and individual contributor, leading a team of 4- 6. This position requires 5 - 10 years of HR Director level experience and a knowledgeable and strategic business partner who is collaborative and capable of building HR support for a fast-growing company.

- Partner with the leadership team to formulate strategies to attract and retain talent for future growth opportunities and redeployment of existing talent to better opportunities.
- Regularly engage in direct communication with executive team on key HR matters using data and knowledge of both industry and national trends.
- Directly manages recruitment efforts to ensure the organization is effectively and efficiently sourcing and selecting the right candidates which further the company's mission, vision, and core values.
- Annually examines all health and welfare benefit programs for changes and enhancements that attract new talent and retain existing talent. Has fiduciary responsibility of a self-insured health program and its administration. Make annual adjustments to premium equivalents and stop-loss amounts to ensure solvency of plan.
- Serves as the sole resource for benefit administration questions and direction. Develops and communicates the annual open enrollment offer and manages selections and administration.
- Oversees the payroll function, including detailed weekly review and direction. Responsible for gathering all management related events in weekly notes for payroll administration.
- Reviews all HR supporting systems on a 2 - 3 year cycle to ensure systems keep pace with needs. Areas include payroll, applicant tracking, HRMS, 401(k) recordkeeping, onboarding, recruitment, benefit administration.
- Responsible to ensure that locations are equipped with HR tools and strategies to increase employee engagement, productivity, and retention.
- Leads the effective and efficient administration of the performance management process, ensuring manager's are equipped to engage in constructive and ongoing feedback and coaching.
- Single point of contact for any HR issues and employee relations concerns. Guides management in defensible discipline processes. Regularly engages in discussion with any team member about HR/workplace concerns to bring to successful conclusion.
- Maintain current knowledge and application of all relevant laws and regulations at the local, state and national level relating to employment and ensure organizational compliance. This includes educating and advising managers and senior leaders on HR-related legal and regulatory matters and ensuring HR programs, practices and policies are aligned. Responsible for all statutory compliance and response including Workers' Compensation, unemployment, ERISA compliance, FLSA, FMLA, non-discrimination testing, 5500s, EEO, and minor employment laws.
Experience and Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resources or related field
- SHRM Certification required or attained within one year of hire
- Minimum of 5 years of HR leadership experience partnering directly with senior leadership
- Working knowledge of employment law and compliance
- Strong experience in benefit design and administration
- Proven track record of managing employee relations and obtaining good outcomes in resolution
- Strong business acumen and leadership
- Ability to identify, influence, and collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve desired organizational outcomes
