As the Director of National Sales, you will build and implement innovative sales strategies to inspire our talented sales team to reach new milestones. In This Role
- Create and implement sales strategies that align with corporate objectives, utilizing market trends and insights to drive revenue growth
- Develop and refine tailored sales playbooks for different customer segments, continuously evaluating their effectiveness based on feedback and market changes
- Assess and optimize the distribution of accounts and territories, ensuring alignment with team strengths, capacity, and overall sales objectives
- Create and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts, addressing challenges and recommending adjustments to strategies as needed
- Manage the Territory sales budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation and maximizing return on investment
- Accompany and observe Account Executives in the field, assisting in customer visits and fostering direct relationships
- Guide the Territory Sales Team through transitions, such as new system integrations and account load shifts, ensuring continued motivation and performance
- Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats, adjusting sales strategies accordingly
- Drive growth by identifying new business opportunities, expanding existing accounts, and exploring new markets
- Mentor and coach a high-performing sales team, providing the tools and support necessary for success
- Partner with Marketing, Product Development, Operations, and other teams to create a unified approach to market insights and customer satisfaction; collaborating cross-departmentally to address business issues and capitalize on new opportunities
- Collaborate with executive leaders to identify strategic accounts and negotiate contracts that support company objectives
- Ensure effective onboarding and continuous training for sales team members, focusing on product knowledge and sales offerings
- Establish revenue goals for Territory Sales Team members and monitor performance against these goals throughout the year
- Monitor and assess the Territory Sales Team's compensation structure, collaborating with cross-functional leadership to ensure fairness and competitiveness
- Attend and lead at industry tradeshows and outside events throughout the year to enhance brand visibility, network with key stakeholders, and gather market insights

The Ideal Person
- Minimum of 10 years of sales experience in the furniture industry or a related field, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred
- Experience in furniture or similar industry highly preferred
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing national sales strategies and achieving revenue targets
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of motivating and inspiring sales teams
- In-depth understanding of the furniture wholesale market, including key players, trends, and competitive dynamics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present effectively and negotiate with clients and stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with proficiency in interpreting data to drive decision-making
