Through research programs funded by science and technology R&D organizations within the U.S. Department of Defense, the research and development team in FAST Labs collaborates across the enterprise. On this team, you'll have the opportunity to create and develop advanced technology capabilities in the areas of advanced electronics, autonomy, cyber, electronic warfare, and sensors and processing.
About the Role:
FAST Labs Systems Engineering is seeking a Systems Engineer to join an existing team to execute the integration and test activities associated with radio communications systems. As a member of this team, you will collaborate with leads of multiple disciplines and program leadership. Your focus as a team member includes I&T of systems employing RF, digital, and communications technology, as well as presenting results and solutions to management and customer audiences.

About the Role:
FAST Labs Systems Engineering is seeking a Systems Engineer to join an existing team to execute the integration and test activities associated with radio communications systems. As a member of this team, you will collaborate with leads of multiple disciplines and program leadership. Your focus as a team member includes I&T of systems employing RF, digital, and communications technology, as well as presenting results and solutions to management and customer audiences.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong background in RF test utilizing test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, oscilloscopes, RF function generators, RF connectors/hardware
- Exposure to communications measurements such as error vector magnitude, spectral emissions masks, bit error rate, etc.
- Experience with MATLAB scripting for test automation and hardware communication
- Experience with integrating & testing RF and FPGA hardware
- Ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams to troubleshoot performance issues and recommend solutions
- Proactive work ethic with self-starter mindset
- A desire for a hands-on role working on hardware in a laboratory environment
- Communication skills to clearly express ideas and solutions to the team, industry partners, and customers
- Strong team player mindset

Required Skills and Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- 4+ years of relevant industry experience with an emphasis on hardware integration and testing
- Proficiency in using RF test equipment, including signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes and power supplies
- Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Experience in data analysis tools such as MATLAB and/or Python for data parsing and visualization
- Hold an active Secret clearance
Preferred Skills and Education
- Interest in travel for external field test events
- Environmental test experience
- Experience with Linux and command line interface-based systems
