Job Summary:

This position recruits new home mortgage business to Bell Bank. Solicit realtors, builders, and new customers for their business. This position maintains clean and accurate loan files and abides by the policies and procedures in the department.

Primary Duties:
  • Solicit realtors, builders, and customers for mortgage loan business and any other product that Bell Bank offers.
  • Know and understand the TILA RESPA Integrated Disclosure/Know Before You Owe rules and the impact of the loan process
  • Take applications on FHA, VA, and Conventional loans. Provide accurate and correct information for processing of the file. Review the file prior to processing to ensure it meets the preliminary requirements of the program. If in question, consult the manager for loan committee to review file before processing.
  • Maintain contact on files while processing to keep up-to-date on status for your customer and the realtor.
  • Resolve problems on files. (This is not a processor responsibility.)
  • Participate in realtor and builders' activities. Join committees, attend monthly meetings, and training classes to network with builders and realtors.
  • Establish a production goal for management.
  • Inform management of solicitation activity.
  • Provide a complete and accurate file to processors.
  • Collect necessary fees as designated. If proper points and fees are not collected, management may assess to officer if problem is ongoing.
  • Keep updated on FHA, VA, and Conventional guidelines as received.
  • Assist processors, shipping department, and manager in obtaining information that may be needed on the file.
  • Know by name and face as many customers and employees as possible, calling them by name as often as possible.
  • Know and practice LOCBUTN, our Golden Rules, and Bell Bank Customer Service Standards.
  • Know, understand, and live the company values and bottom line.
  • Conduct activities consistent with established Bell Bank policies, procedures and systems, the Bell Bank Employee Conduct policies, the Bank Secrecy Act and all applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
  • All employees are responsible for information security, including compliance with policies and standards which protect sensitive information.
  • Prompt and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Skills Required:
  • Three years of mortgage banking sale experience.
  • NMLS registration.
  • Outgoing personality with sales skills to call on customers and realtors.
  • Self-motivated to create business and have the creative capacity to look at different options and suggest new ideas to the customer.
  • Ability to make decisions quickly, deal with deadlines.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations or problems.
