Our Digital Modernization sector needs a results-oriented Systems Architect to support the Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Enterprise Center's (NEC) Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) Division at Fort Meade, MD.

This isn't just any job. The SE&I Division serves as the hub for systems engineering and enterprise architecture, and as the technical authority for the Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications within the Department of Defense. Our customer, led by the Commander, U.S. Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM), applies subject matter expertise and best practices to translate mission and operational requirements into solutions and operational capabilities. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams, government product and process owners, and stakeholders to ensure that the engineering, architecture and/or Configuration Management artifacts are produced as required by our government customer.

What will you do in this role'
  • Develop and maintain architecture artifacts, such as system and operational views, to support modification, upgrade, and modernization of existing Nuclear C3 systems.
  • Support the development and maintenance of system baseline descriptions using digital engineering tools such as Cameo.
  • Verify and validate architecture documents against current systems description and program office documentation.
  • Work with senior engineers to sustain a digital engineering strategy for the NC3 Enterprise that includes architecture and configuration management processes and workflows.
  • Advise the Government on recommendations to enhance NC3 architecture and/or systems engineering processes and NC3 capabilities.
  • Incorporate architecture artifacts into presentations (e.g., PowerPoint) designed to support senior leader decision making.

Basic Qualifications
  • Current Top Secret with SCI eligibility.
  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years' OR Associate's Degree and 7+ years' OR High School Diploma and 9+ years' relevant experience.
  • Experience with DoDAF AV, OV, and SV artifacts.
  • Possess one or more of the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or educational equivalent.
  • The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) certification.
  • DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) certification.

Overall experience should include at least five (5) years of experience in all of the following:
  • Establishing system information requirements.
  • Designing architectures to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces.
  • Evaluating problems of workflows, organization, and planning and develops appropriate corrective action.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with senior Nuclear C3 community stakeholders such as NEC, USSTRATCOM, the Joint Staff, and OSD.
  • Understanding of, and/or experience, with operations and technical characteristics of military satellite and terrestrial communications systems.
  • Ability to apply system engineering techniques and/or system architecture concepts to secure and survivable communication systems.
  • Experience conducting architecture/performance trade-off analysis, and engineering design of a system-of-systems.

Pay Range: Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
