Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies (CWT) is a leading supplier of building envelope solutions that effectively drive energy efficiency and sustainability in commercial and residential applications. We are looking for a Commercial Business Development Manager to support nationally.

Job Summary:

The Commercial Business Development Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development and management of a national sales organization focused on driving commercial construction sales for a leading Spray Foam Insulation Manufacturer. This role will encompass technical sales, architectural sales development, and warranty management. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Commercial Business Development Manager will lead the shift towards a more commercially focused market strategy, creating and executing a business plan that drives revenue growth, improves margins, and delivers a differentiated value proposition for our customers in the commercial construction industry.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Sales Leadership & Strategy:
    • Develop and lead a national commercial sales organization focused on growing spray foam insulation sales within the commercial construction market.
    • Oversee and support a team of architectural sales professionals to secure project specifications and technical approvals.
    • Align the commercial team with the business's overall objectives, ensuring metrics and goals are in place to drive revenue growth and improve profitability.
    • Manage the team's use of Salesforce CRM to track opportunities from identification through conversion, ensuring data-driven decision-making and accountability.
  • Commercial Market Development:
    • Lead the company's efforts to build a strong presence in the commercial construction sector by fostering relationships with general contractors, specifiers, architects, and consultants.
    • Develop and communicate a compelling value proposition for the commercial market, focusing on the technical benefits of spray foam insulation and other Carlisle Weatherproofing products.
    • Ensure the sales team is equipped with the right tools, training, and knowledge to effectively promote Carlisle's offerings in commercial building projects.
  • Architectural Sales & Specification Development:
    • Lead the architectural sales team in securing project specifications and working closely with architects, engineers, and design consultants to promote spray foam solutions in building designs.
    • Build and manage a specification pipeline that ensures Carlisle products are positioned early in the project lifecycle.
  • Technical Sales & Warranty Management:
    • Oversee the technical sales team to ensure customers receive the necessary technical support to specify, install, and maintain our products in commercial applications.
    • Lead the management and execution of warranty programs, ensuring alignment with customer needs and maintaining the company's reputation for quality and reliability.
  • Customer & Market Intelligence:
    • Gather real-time insights into market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs in the commercial construction space.
    • Identify new opportunities for market penetration, working with senior leadership to refine the go-to-market strategy and product offering.
  • National Account Management & Expansion:
    • Develop strong relationships with key national accounts, general contractors, and key influencers in the commercial construction industry.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop a balanced strategy between distribution partners and direct sales to large commercial projects.
  • Team Development & Training:
    • Build and mentor a high-performing national sales team, setting clear goals, providing ongoing training, and creating a culture of accountability and performance.
    • Develop standardized onboarding and sales training programs tailored to the commercial market and Carlisle's product lines.
  • Reporting & Analytics:
    • Provide senior leadership with metrics-driven feedback on sales performance, pipeline development, and commercial market penetration.
    • Analyze performance data to refine strategies and tactics that will further enhance growth and profitability.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial construction sales, preferably in the building materials or insulation industries.
  • 3+ years of sales management experience, leading teams of technical and architectural sales professionals.
  • Proven track record of developing and managing sales organizations in the commercial construction sector.
  • Strong understanding of technical sales, architectural sales, and project specification processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and implement sales strategies that drive market share growth and improve margins.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM or similar systems to track and manage opportunities.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong business acumen, focusing on driving results through data, process, and execution.

Education and Experience:
  • Required:
    • 10+ years in the construction materials industry

Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to travel nationally by car or plane for extended periods to visit clients, attend meetings, and manage the sales team.
