The ideal candidate will exhibit advanced technical proficiency, exceptional leadership, and strategic project management capabilities, ensuring alignment with operational, environmental, and financial objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage critical initiatives including Dual Fuel Conversion (Coal and Gas with pipeline integration), Deep Well Injection, and Effluent Limitation Guideline Plan upgrades.
- Direct multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and strategic business priorities.
- Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, including budget preparation, resource allocation, risk management, and progress monitoring.
- Ensure all projects adhere to safety, timeline, scope, and budget constraints.
- Act as the primary liaison with owners' representatives, engineers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate clear communication of project milestones, changes, and financial implications.
- Collaborate on equipment specifications, troubleshooting, and performance analysis to ensure technical compliance and efficiency.
- Lead training and commissioning efforts for newly installed or modified systems.
- Support environmental permitting modifications in collaboration with legal and engineering teams.
- Produce detailed reports, analyze project trends, and provide actionable recommendations to station management and ownership.
- Document lessons learned and implement best practices to enhance future project performance.
- Oversee bidding processes, negotiate contracts, and manage procurement activities to optimize project costs.
- Handle emergent situations, planned outages, and additional duties as assigned to support plant operations.
Requirements
Education & Certification:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related technical discipline (Master's preferred).
- PMP certification is highly desirable.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing major maintenance or capital projects, preferably in thermal power generation.
- Expertise with mechanical/electrical systems, including pumps, motors, turbines, generators, and control systems.
Technical Proficiency:
- Advanced skills in project management tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and accounting/purchasing software.
- Proven capability in cost estimation, budgeting, and expense tracking.
Leadership & Communication:
- Strong ability to lead teams, solve complex problems, and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a capacity to interface effectively at all organizational levels.
