Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager, reporting to the Financial Controller, is responsible for managing several staff accountants and is an integral component of the month-end close process. This role also supports our company owners by preparing financial information used to create value within the business. This fast-growing company is headquartered in Cumming, GA and has over 40 locations in the USA that either distribute roofing materials, manufacture metal roofs or sell landscape materials.

RESONSIBILITIES

• Managing a significant portion of the financial statements for over 40 facilities and 32 legal entities (all USA)
• Ensures the accurate documentation of all financial transactions
• Manage several staff accountants
• Responsible for supervision of rebate accounting, lease accounting, equity accounting and bad debt reserve analysis, along with other assigned areas
• Prepares consolidation entries
• Oversight of debt related sections of balance sheet (Term loan, revolver, seller notes, and lease liabilities)
• Adherence to monthly close schedule
• Create and/or follow documented accounting procedures and manage resources that include general ledger, on-demand reporting
• Review balance sheet and income statement month-end balances and audit financial transactions and documents to determine if balances are proper
• Comply with financial policies
• Capably handles several projects simultaneously and works effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
• Manages and/or supports all audit related activities
• Performs miscellaneous related duties and special projects as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

• Large company and multi-location experience
• Private or public company experience required
• Proven work experience in accounting with progressive increase in responsibilities and has managed people. Experience of 7+ years
• Excellent knowledge of US GAAP
• Ability to leverage best practices from previous experiences
• CPA preferred
• Highly detail oriented, organized in work, and a desire to learn
• Proficiency in all Microsoft products
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• Experience with ERP systems
• Strong attention to detail and above average analytical skills
• BS in Accounting; Master's in accounting a plus
• Big 4 experience is a plus
• Ability to work in an office environment 5 days per week in Cumming, GA
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Outgoing personality who seeks to improve processes
• Distribution or manufacturing experience a plus.
