The role requires a proactive approach to identifying opportunities, providing technical support, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure client satisfaction.
Qualifications
Essential Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with consulting engineers, and other industry stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance and product recommendations to consulting engineers, ensuring solutions meet their needs and specifications.
- Conduct detailed project analysis, including reviewing blueprints and specifications, to prepare accurate and competitive quotes.
- Stay current on industry trends, product developments, and competitive landscape to provide insights and recommendations.
- Lead product presentations, training sessions, and lunch-and-learn events for clients and partners.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within assigned territory or market segment.
- Monitor and report on market trends, and client feedback to management.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior sales engineers or team members as needed.
- Coordinate with team members to align on sales strategies and client engagement plans.
- May oversee specific projects or initiatives requiring cross-departmental collaboration.
Qualifications, Attributes, Education, and/or Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical sales or a related field, preferably within the commercial equipment distribution industry.
- Strong technical knowledge and ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and developing long-term client relationships.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Highly self-motivated, goal-oriented, and capable of working independently.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients, attend industry events, and support sales efforts.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency with CRM software and sales analytics tools.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
