Summary:

Individual Occupational Requirements NOTE: Employees currently assigned to positions in this occupational series as of September 2017 will be considered to have met the basic requirements for the position occupied. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Education: A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Licensure: Applicants must be licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Medical Requirements: Applicants must be able to distinguish basic colors. Basic Requirement: GS-11: 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D., Pharm.D. or equivalent doctoral degree. In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Collaborate with physicians to discuss potential incompatibility issues with patient prescriptions; maintain accurate inventory of medications; design drug treatment plans; monitor and assure proper drug therapy; provide clinical teaching activities; advise for potential effects of new drugs, by investigating and evaluating the status of drugs which do not yet have approval for general use; provide direct patient care in pharmacy based clinics; provide formal and informal education and in-services to medical staff, pharmacy, and nursing staff; provide education to patients and their families about medications, common disease states and information on health promotion; Participates in ongoing quality assurance and performance improvement activities. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
